Zebu Asado Argentino

I was invited to lunch by another restauranteur who is extremely picky about the choice of restaurants that we go to. Based on the choice, I had high expectations of Zebu. What I found was a great experience from the front door valet parking (quite useful in Cuernavaca, where parking is premium) to the packet of mints delivered with the bill. In between these two was an absolutely wonderful meal served by a most attentive staff.I would highly suggest a visit to Zebu for anyone looking for a delightful lunch or dinner in Cuernavaca.

BraaiAsao Churrasqueria

First the good news, the service from waiters was excellent. They are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We found the cuts of meat flavorful, especially the important picanha and sirloin, although some things served brochette style were overdone. The broth/soup accompanying was reported by my friends to be excellent. Waiters were quick to supply requested cuts. The rest of the story: advertising an 11 pm closing time, when we arrived at 915, the first thing we were told after being seated was to hurry because they would be closing at 10. As a result everything felt hurried. Meat started to arrive even before we had returned from the salad bar and as a result meat got cold before it could be eaten while they were bringing even more. Our “stop signal” slowed this down a little. The salad bar had some tasty items on it, but they had discontinued refreshing it. The mashed potatoes on the hot bar obviously came from a box. Staff began to take down the salad bar around 945, last call for the dessert bar was at 950 and last call for drinks at 955. They have a promotion this summer that includes some drinks on the house in the evening, so they’re obviously trying to attract evening business. But it will hard to do when they start to close more than hour before the advertised closing time and with a buffet that is so-so at best.
