Things to do in Chaiten
Family owned and operated beautiful B&B with cabanas/cabins available as well. We stayed upstairs in the main home with restaurant downstairs. The room was so beautiful and euro. Basic ammenities but we were very happy with the location and the whole house. The restaurant offers incredible home cooked meals. Something we have dearly missed in South America. Fresh caught Salmon and the best steak yet. Carolina and her mother really look after you, nothing is too big a ask and they have such an amazing passion for the area. We love to stay in authentic, friendly, warm places and this place hits the mark in every way!
The magic of the forests of Patagonia in one place. We offer a different experience with specialty coffee and homemade pastry with local products.
Our hostel owner told us this place had the best cazuela in town. My partner ordered the Vacuno Cazuela and was happy with it. Nothing special but not bad. I ordered the Cazuela Marisco and was seriously disappointed. I donât eat pork and when the soup came it had lots inside. So I picked it out. The fish was way overcooked and pretty much inedible. The flavorless broth was nothing more than the water the fish had been over-cooked in. This was by far the worst meal I had in Chile. Such a shame as the food in this country is some of the best in Latin America. Unfortunately this place did not live up to the standard we found throughout the rest of the country. Avoid it!Buenos dias señor!

On the shores of one of Chile's largest lakes. 50 kilometers south of Chaitén through the Carretera Austral-.Here, surrounded by ice-capped peaks, rainforests and open waters, you'll find delicious meals and fine wines are such an important part of Chilea
I was here daily for food and wifi. Very pleasant after fishing in the wild... good meat and fish, fines vines, very fresh vegetables, good café, and adorable personnal.
