Steeped in history, Vancouver is the oldest city in Washington. Once the largest western outpost of the British Hudson's Bay Company, where supplies and food were bartered in the 1800s, it was closed in 1860 as Americans took over commerce. The outpost was later recreated as the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. For more history, check out the Pearson Air Field, the oldest operating airfield in the West, where vintage aircraft are displayed at the Pearson Air Museum. If adventure is your bag, Vancouver is the perfect base for day trips to the Columbia River Gorge, the breathtakingly beautiful 70-mile river stretch that cuts through the Cascade Mountains, or Mount St. Helens, the site of the famous volcano, both of which offer a slew of outdoor activities. For calmer pastimes, cruise the picturesque river in the Columbia Gorge riverboat, or visit Beacon Rock, the world's second largest monolith, where a walking trail leads to spectacular panoramic views.

Small, locally owned restaurant, using fresh ingredients. Small, yummy and delightful menu. My favorites: french toast or Monte Cristo for breakfast, and the best chicken salad sandwich for lunch.
We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and great food. I believe it was the owner who served us. He was very warm and friendly. The atmosphere is fun and classy, with eclectic decorating including different salt and pepper shakers on each table. I had the "Everybody's Breakfast." All was good but the rosemary potatoes were really special and delicious. My British friend ordered poached eggs and raved about how well they were cooked- said that is hard to find. They make their own teas, so it has the element of being a tea house. A very pleasant breakfast spot -highly recommend.

Went here on a recommendation from business colleague. Very good soup / noodle options inclusive of beef, pork, shrimp, tofu and veggie options. Went with the N5 and was not disappointed - co-workers had P1 and V1 respectively. Nicely sized portions where you don't need appetizers. Would recommend and you can get out the door for four for lunch under $50 inclusive of tip.

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes creates an all-you-care-to-eat dining experience with a daily selection of made-from-scratch soups and salads and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads and tasty desserts.
We had an ok dining experience, but it was by no means spectacular. I don't feel like this Sweet Tomatoes was any better or worse than other Sweet Tomatoes I've been to. It's just that because it's a buffet-style restaurant serving massive bulk portions of food, that the food quality is not that high because obviously the restaurant is trying to pull a profit. The food is ok-to-good, but not superb, if you catch my drift. They have a lot of vegetarian options but not that many for vegans. (You can make a vegan salad of course but have to inquire about the various salad dressings and even the croutons if you're trying to avoid cheese.) They have several pasta dishes, and lots of bread. I tried all of the vegetarian pastas and they were fairly lackluster. The mac and cheese didn't even taste that cheesy. The brownies were the best thing I had there. Personally I would not go back to this restaurant, but if you're looking for affordable food buffet-style for a large dining party, then you might want to check it out.
