Ristorante A Gestione Familiare, Dal 1954 Sempre La Stessa,e Sempre A Poveroni Di Vada. La Passione Della Famiglia Catarsi Al Vostro Servizio
We had a fantastic dinner with our Italian family. ALL of the seafood is fresh, never frozen. When you order the grilled fresh fish, they bring out a cart and you choose which fish you want. Then, after it is grilled, this lovely woman comes out and filets it with two spoons right at your table. She makes sure to include the cheeks, yum!! Every dish that came to our table was just incredible, delicious and fresh. The house wine was also great!

After all the good reviews, we were disappointed. Ordered the fish appetizer platter, which included a variety of cold and hot fish prepared in various wats. The cold fish seemed and tasted as if it had been cooked the day before, quite dry and dull. My husband had the pecorino on bread, which was OK but expensive for what you get (ab. 8 euros). We ordered the linguini with shrimps, portion though was quite small and shrimps not so many. We also ordered the Tuscan-style mussels, which according to the host who took our order are cooked in tomato sauce. It turns out they are stuffed with a fish-meat mix which he failed to mention, although I had asked what tuscan-style means. Luckily, my husband offered to exchange dishes as he does eat red meat. I have to mention the nice waitress who did offer to exchange my dish though. For the price of 56 euros, I would expect better - wouldn't go there again.

We saw this restaurant mentioned in the Michelin Guide and booked it for our last dinner in Italy, before returning home. We had seen some rave reviews and some negative reviews on TA, but we decided to give it a try. We called and booked a table and when we arrived we realised the restaurant was fully booked - this was a Saturday night. We were warmly welcomed. I think some reviewers criticised the restaurant for being old fashioned. We found it welcoming and pleasant in decor (all seating was inside). We received friendly, helpful and enthusiastic advice on food and wine choices. Hubby and I were recommended the mixed seafood hors d'ouevres for a starter and also recommended that we should not order primi and secondi after this, as we might be full. This was great advice! The mixed seafood hors d'ouevres was in fact four plates of food, which came one after the other and they were all delicious. The prawns with peaches were interesting and delicious, but I think my favourite was the grilled cuttlefish, charred and savoury and very more-ish. Our children shared a 'terra' platter of cured meats with melon, which was also very nice. We all had a pasta dish after this: the children shared spaghetti with tomato sauce, which was simple, fresh and delicious; hubby had gnochetti with seafood, which was excellent, and I had spaghetti with mixed seafood which was also excellent - the seafood was in a rich and almost creamy sauce, beautifully cooked. I was glad I didn't order a further course!I managed a sorbet after this and in fact I tried all three of the homemade sorbets and they were all delicious. I could not fault the food, nor the enthusiastic and friendly service. I am not sure if this was 'old fashioned' cooking, or service, or anything, but I would gladly return to enjoy more of the same. We had a fabulous last night meal.

We actually spent 2 dinners at the place and we were very happy on both occasions! Great Chef and family serving the guests, creating a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. The cooking is almost fine dining but with a local twist, good, home made products and preparation. Try the Sea Bass or the home made prosciutto! Ask for tomato&garlic&olive oil salsa to add to some meets and enjoy the very good, local wines selection!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Restaurant il Fiore. It's a family run restaurant not far from Cecina and the staff were polite and welcoming. The Restaurant itself is a bit dated but the food we ordered was great. My husband ordered mussels as a starter. I ordered the frittura mista which was amazing and my hubby had the Gamberoni (king prawns) with pears which tasted excellent, we had never tried it before and we loved the contrast of flavours. For dessert we ordered the Cialda with yoghurt and berries. Everything was perfect and we spent about 50 euros including a bottle of Prosecco. We definitely recommend it!

We enjoyed in this nice restaurant great fish, very originally prepared and presented. From the bread to the end of the meal all was of high quality, fresh and well made. I only regret the hosts have an obvious bias towards regulars and we, as tourists, didn't at all feel welcomed or treated the same way. Pity, it would have been great otherwise.
