Reviews on Soups food in Piran, Slovenian Littoral Region, Slovenia. Piran (Slovene pronunciation: [piˈɾáːn] ( listen); Italian: Pirano [piˈraːno]) is a town in southwestern Slovenia on the Gulf of Piran on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the three major towns of Slovenian Istria. The town has much medieval architecture, with narrow streets and compact houses. Piran is the administrative centre of the local area and one of Slovenia's major tourist attractions. Until the mid-20th century, Italian was the dominant language, but was replaced by Slovene as demographics shifted.

Stopped here for a very late lunch had scallops and tuna tartar for starters then we both had the veal steak with shared side orders of salad and fried potatoes. Good service, food arrived promptly (the restaurant was very quiet) and was delicious.

We offer fresh fish of the day, so diversity of our food depends on our daily catch.
Had a great experience and great meal at this place.Initially walked past this place as my partner is vegetarian and they only had fish dishes advertised on the chalkboard. But we returned after we couldn't find a convincing alternative dinner option in town.We asked them if there is something vegetarian could potentially offer and the waiter, who was absolutely lovely, was sent to the market to buy some vegetables especially. Both our meals - the vegetarian one and my calamari were absolutely delicious. Food tasted really fresh. Restaurant is located on a little square, we ate outside and watched local life unfold while we were eating. One of my favourite eating experiences in Slovenia.

We spent 5 nights at Portoroz, and our last dinner here was in the Trattoria del Pescarote:Naturally, we've choosen seafood, what else?! It was excellent, fresh and tasty. The think, which was above our expextations was the service itself: Our waiter, Daniel was confident, professional and, of course very polite! Dear manager/owner: You have to take care that emploies like him!Besides, the wine (like every wine this country) was memorable too! We definitivley offer this restaurant, thanks for the positive memory!

The first time we went, we had some great calamari and seafood risotto, and our waiter was lovely. The second time we went we got an awkward waitress who refused to give us a choice of fish, and who tried to misappropriate nearly â¬10 change as a tip. The food was pretty good, but the service on the second occasion was surly, perfunctory and dishonest. Beware. The management need to have a look at who is and who is not representing the business well. The charming and good humoured gentleman who served us the first time was the reason we went back. The miserable dark-haired woman who served us on the second occasion is the reason we probably wouldn't go back.

The Restaurant Pavel 2 offers you a wide selection of wines and mediterranean dishes, all of them carefully prepared, using only first quality ingredients. The restaurant is placed near the sea, which makes it one of the best spots in the city thanks to i
The only good thing was the view and not bad wine. Food was obviously made from frozen seafood. Spagheti carbonara almost not eatable. Waiter looking at us as if we disturb him. If we come back to Piran, never back to this restaurant.

Located on the seafront, speciality seafood.. Outside seating with roof that closes. Recommended by the very nice hostel around the corner. Atethere June 2010
Location is perfect, at the waterâs edge. Service was welcoming and friendly. Our disappointment in our overall experience, though, had to do with how our order was handled and quality of the meal.We wanted to order bursara shrimp (with tomato sauce, not the white wine sauce) but the server insisted that the white wine sauce was better. We said we prefer the red sauce. After we placed our order, the server returned to say we should go for the Adriatic shrimp because itâs much better. I asked the price and he said, 'it's just a little more,â so we went for the upgrade. When we received our meal, he delivered the Adriatic bursara shrimp with white sauce. When we reminded him that we preferred the red sauce, he took it back to have it adjusted. By the time my momâs shrimp was adjusted with red sauce, I was nearly done with my meal of fried calamari and shrimp. When we got the bill, we found that the Adriatic shrimp was 30EU and the shrimp we originally wanted was 17EU. I expect a 3-5EU difference, but it was 13EU more! I didn't clarify the cost of the upgrade when our server suggested it, but 13EU is a considerable difference. It's not the cost that's bothersome to me, but the way it was presented as 'a little difference.'Food service was a bit slow (even though the large group before us had already been served) and with the back and forth with the placement and delivery of our order, it wasnât exactly a relaxing experience. Food quality and taste of our meal was just ok.This experience is somewhat unfortunate because this was our only meal in beautiful Piran and IVO was specifically recommended to me.

The night we arrived in piran there was a huge electrical storm. This held is up getting to the restaurant. They still let us in late and without a reservation. Food was lovely. Had the spaghetti alle vongole. Lovely homely traditional feel to three place and friendly service.
