Discover Restaurants offering the best Soups food in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada. Osoyoos (/ɒˈsuːjuːs/, historically /ˈsuːjuːs/) is the southern-most town in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia between Penticton and Omak. Near the border with Washington state, the town is also adjacent to the Indian Reserve of the Osoyoos Indian Band. The origin of the name Osoyoos was the word sẁiẁs (pronounced "soo-yoos") meaning "narrowing of the waters" in the local Okanagan language (Syilx'tsn). The "O-" prefix is not indigenous in origin and was attached by settler-promoters wanting to harmonize the name with other place names beginning with O in the Okanagan Country (Oliver, Omak, Oroville, Okanogan). There is one local newspaper, the Osoyoos Times.

I was passing through Osoyoos on one of my personal gallivanting trips and was feeling a bit peckish. I saw their sandwich board sign outside advertising lunch.Must say I just enjoyed the tastiest soup (tomato and chick pea) and light and delectable rosemary scone, which I devoured indoors surrounded by their funky store items (clothing/jewellery/etc.)Staff friendly and helpful and food arrived at my table quickly.
Where to eat Canadian food in Osoyoos: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Went for lunch Sunday when the cafe hosted a lunch by donation for those less fortunate in the community. The soups were wonderful, very hearty and good coffee. We need more places like this - good food, good prices and a heart for others!
I had good hopes for this place. Very much wanted to support a local inventive alternative food establishment. 1) Sat down to plastic glasses. 2) What I ordered didnât mention ânoodlesâ (I choose the only menu item that appeared without grains) which was a curry-vegetable-chicken/prawn soup (Pho). I guess I should have checked, as had noodles despite the menu description as a âvegetable curry soupâ distinctly differently from the noodle heavy rest of the menu. Anyway....It was weak (to say the least) in vegetablesâ (tops 4 small pieces of broccoli) and really very little of anything else other than rice noodles and chicken broth (total of 3 pieces of chicken...I counted). It was really a huge disappointment. The bill took a long to come, even after requesting it. And the bill had to end up being âbroken downâ at the register as it was never asked in the first place if we wanted separate bills. Nothing was ever âupselledâ like tea, or even their âbubble-teaâ. The price would have been reasonable if the soup had at least some vegetables. I hope they get their learning curve resolved. The curry-broth was good, although it desperately needed an acid (lime). It honestly tasted very inauthentic and completely disappointing. I tasted none of what I would associate with Pho OR Vietnamese curry.
