Osteria with gluten-free kitchen (certified AIC), we serve traditional italian food with a selected list of Umbria's Wines. Antica Cantina is a Smart place to stay, at least for us: after all, if you ask the landlord how is the wine, he Will always answer
Cantina Antica is an excellent restaurant with inside and outside space. The foot was very good, with almost all the dishes being gluten free and very well prepared from fresh local ingredients. The staff were always very clear what was not appropriate for coeliacs (eg âthis basket of bread is GF, but this one is notâ) showing they were really on top of the issue.

My wife and I ate here while visiting Orvieto. I wanted to try some typical Etruscan food and Tipica Trattoria Etrusca did not disappoint. Our waiter was fluent in English but was also happy to let me practice my speaking in Italian. I let him know in advance that I wanted to try the pigeon and rabbit thought they were not foods I am accustomed to and therefore I may not like them. I thought the pigeon was like a better version of chicken though I wasn't a big fan of the sauce. It had a black olive base that was a bit strong for me. The rabbit was great. It had a green olive sauce though it tasted nothing like olive. when I was finished eating the cook came to see what I thought. I told him I needed more bread so that I could finish the sauce from the rabbit. If pigeon or rabbit seem a bit strange, they have other foods such as ravioli, which is what my wife ordered. That was also excellent. When we finished our meals the waiter brough us some lemoncello and told us that it was customary to drink it after the meal. If I visit Orvieto again, I will defintiely eat at Tipica Trattoria Etrusca and will hopefully have the same waiter next time.
