Reviews on Soups food in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Kyoto is Japan's most traditional city. The lush and verdant cityscape encompasses sprawling rock gardens, vast palaces, and tall temples. The streets are alive with businessmen hurrying past Geiko and Makio in their full kimono, both on their way to work along cherry-tree lined walks. A historic hub that celebrates Japanese culture, from kabuki to textile weaving, Kyoto can also be surprisingly modern. It is one of Japan's largest, busiest, and most visited cities, with packed shopping mega-centers and high-rise offices. Suffused with shrines, outdoor markets, and nature walks, the small but bountiful location is also home to some of Japan's most contemporary architectural marvels, hippest cafes and eateries, and modish local brands and shops. It makes Kyoto a playful and sublime city, studded with as many bars and hole-in-the-wall fried food shops along the Kamogawa river as it is suffused with ancient ryokan and delicate wagashi shops. Kyoto is in the cross-hairs of Japan's most artful past and its energetic present.

All for delivering a memorable one bowl⦠KYOTO ENGINE Ramen is welcoming and entertaining the customers with âthe elaborate dishes created sparing no effortâ and âhigh-quality spaceâ using âthe carefully selected ingredients produced in western Japan area
Engine Ramen is a fantastic restaurant, particularly if you have any dietary restrictions. I had gluten free ramen for the first time and was blown away. The staff were great and really helpful, and the food was brilliant whether gluten free or standard. Would highly recommend a visit.

Couple had lunch here. It's a small restaurant upstairs with two large square tables seating a total of 8 per table, i.e. 16 covers. Simple menu (English available) with different choices of ramen and fried chicken. We had one set (choice of ramen, a portion of fried chicken and matcha ice cream) and one individual ramen. I had the black ramen (i.e. with soy sauce) and my wife had the lemon ramen. Both were good. Mine was excellent. Not a lot of meat, just three thin slices of pork. Ice cream was fine.Perfectly friendly staff with limited English but enough to take your order! Bill came to something like JPY 2,500. No drinks included, we had the free water!

Ippudo, our ramen restaurant, was first established in 1985 in Hakata, Fukuoka. Currently in 2017, we have over 100 stores throughout Japan. In 1990, our founder, Shigemi Kawahara, entered the Hall of Fame for winning the the ramen competition of the show
After wandering town looking for dinner we decided to come to this place based on TripAdvisor reviews. After a wait of about 30 minutes around 7.30 we finally got into the restaurant. Quick service as our orders were taken while we were in the queue. We ordered the classic ramen for all (3 kids included) and some soft boiled eggs. Absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. Definitely would go back again.
