Mike's Clam ShackWells, MEVisited here on Friday, 10/11 for dinner. Despite it being the start of a busy 3-day weekend, my husband and I were seated very quickly. We started with an order of onion rings as an appetizer. They were very good - needed a bit more seasoning at the table, but the coating was crispy and clung to the rings as you'd expect. For my entree I ordered the baby back ribs. They were cooked perfectly, the meat feel off the bone and had a satisfying smoky flavor. Unfortunately, the prime rib my husband wanted was no longer available so he went for his second choice of a chicken pot pie. The pie contained generous amounts of chicken in a flavorful gravy topped with a flaky crust. As far as sides, between us we had french fries, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. All the sides were good and the portions were generous. Our waitress was attentive throughout our time in the restaurant and was sure that drink refills were brought promptly and that dishes were cleared almost as soon as they were empty. Mike's is a go-to place for us when we visit Maine and they do never disappoint!

Billy's Chowder House is a casual seafood restaurant, located in the southern coastal town of Wells, Maine, with a reputation for great chowder and lobster rolls. Billy's has a unique one of a kind location, with water on both sides of the road.
We had one excellent lunch at Billyâs this October.Felicia B took care of us and just like a previous visit she was outstanding! We had onion rings, steamers, two lobster specials (awesome deal!) and two half fried scallops/fried clams.Everything was delicious! The prices are more than fair AND they do a rewards/frequent diner program!

This place has some excellent food. They have a lot of lasagnas, salads, quiches, and a ton of excellent baked goods. You cannot go wrong. It is not cheap, but it is great food. The crab and fish cakes are excellent. The sandwiches are also very good, though not inexpensive. Local products abound here, so if you need cheeses, etc. you will be very happy.

Went here last night with a cousin from Augusta Georgia. He said the Crab cakes were great! I had the clam strips and others had the haddock. It was packed. Had to wait for a parking spot. Great views. Nice breeze when its 90's out. Definitely go back!

We called in our order for two cups of soup, a half sandwich, and a Cobb salad. My companion asked me to request a roll with her salad. When I got there to pick up our order, my request for a roll was flat out refused. I was not even given the option of paying. When I got the bag home, my companion noted that the half sandwich and one cup of soup were completely missing. She got on the phone and had to explain herself three times what the problem was. It turned out that we had been given both order slips and thus the deli had no record of what had been ordered. The third round elicited an apology from the proprietress and the rest of the order when I drove back to retrieve it. The chili soup was spicy. The Cobb salad was substantial. The half roast beef sandwich was good, but ordinary. We will try some other deli the next time we are in Kennebunk.Let me extend our sincerest apologies once again for the error with your order. We have had staff turn over and we are in the process of training new counter help. Unfortunately, your order was a teachable moment for us. We do try our best to get everything right each and every time in this fast-paced business, but like you unfortunately experienced, errors do happen. Especially when you're new to the job and it's only your 4th or 5th day. Yes, I did ask you to repeat yourself as I was trying to understand what had happened. Our manager who was on the sandwich line had indicated the order had been made, so we were also looking at the take-out orders to see if the balance of our order had been left behind. We did not have an issue remaking your order once we knew what was missing. Unfortunately, rolls don't automatically come with our salads, but If I knew you had requested a roll for the salad it too would have been included. Again, our sincerest apologies for our errors and your unfortunate experience.

Top-notch food is served up quickly in this very popular restaurant. Service is friendly and accommodating. Both vegetarians and carnivores will find plenty to please them from a fairly extensive menu.We had two excellent breakfasts there recently. Mine, a wonderful concoction called El Tiante named after Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant, was so good the first day, I had it again the next morning. What's not to like? Two poached eggs over a large serving of house-made corned beef hash, toast and an overflowing cup of quality fruit. What I particularly liked about this diner was the service. The place was packed on the second morning and my eggs weren't properly drained so the hash had a fair amount of water on top. When I pointed it out to our server, she whisked it back to the kitchen, had a fresh plate before me in just a few minutes, then thanked me for bringing the issue to her attention. That's the kind of service that guarantees loyalty.

We stopped by Hurricane for a quick lunch and were not disappointed. We were seated at a window table overlooking an inlet and the tourists bustling across the bridge in downtown Kennebunkport. We both had the lobster chowder, which was excellent. Very tasty with chunks of very fresh lobster and potatoes. Will definitely return!
