A lovely little family-run restaurant.Stopped here for lunch one day with a friend. It was the first time I had been so I wasn't sure what it was like. Food was extremely good and cooked very professionally. Staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. Only negative thing was that there were not many vegetarian options but food was still fantastic anyway.

in un ex palazzo della curia, contiene al suo interno 2 affreschi antichi di santi. è nella zona storica di Isernia nei pressi del Palazzo Comunale
We chose this restaurant solely on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews, which are almost uniformly glowing. Our own experience is decidedly mixed. On the plus side, both the chef and waitress were very friendly. My companion's pasta with pumpkin and rabbit cacciatore were fine, although not outstanding. However, the tagliata with porcini was incredibly bad: paper-thin slices of tasteless meat floating in oil, with a scatter of porcini chunks that also managed to taste of very little. (I have lived in Italy and eaten tagliata and porcini many times, and have never encountered anything this peculiar.) Moreover, when the wine I asked for was unavailable, the waitress suggested a bottle of Barolo which, at 40 euros, was over twice the price. We opted for a bottle of the delicious local Tinitilio. I realised afterwards that we should simply have gone for the antipasti; the local mozzarella and cured meats are amazing. That combination really is a winner.

My husband's grandmother was from Isernia so we went on a mission to see what life was like in this pretty Italian town. Not a place where tourist visit. What a great experience to find and enjoy real authentic Isernia style food like grandma used to cook. This lovely restaurant, which was recommended by two locals, had a nice quaint atmosphere, the back wall was part of a mountain. Two brothers own and run this family restaurant. They were so nice to us. The food was amazing. We had soup, cavatelli pasta, bacala, dessert and homemade lemon cello ( the best I ever tasted!)
