Small local familyrestaurant with open kitchen. The speciality are our handmade noodles. Possible to eat them in a plate or in a soup. Nice cooked and fried rice corner. Price quality product! Your satisfaction is our goal.
Kids had mentioned theyâd fancied noodles in day time and came across this gem on trip advisor. Loved the food and hosts were fab. Will visit again. Thanks a lot for your nice visit... and the kids were great

You visit BOON for a swift, delicious breakfast (weekends) or lunch in the fantastic atmosphere of the former Veneziana, near the Gravensteen, in the centre of Ghent. We serve different salads with vegetarian spreads, and a delicious soup of the day. You
If you want food thatâs fresh and healthy this is a good choice. They offer home made soup of the day and salads along with very tasty desserts and drinks. The venue is light and airy and a pleasant contrast to most of the alternatives which are traditional cafes serving sandwiches and fries. It is opposite the Gravensteen Fort.

We wandered upon this soup cafe and enjoyed a lovely morning coffee and quiche, with a side a delicious spice cookies and very friendly and attentive service. Right around the corner from the Gravensteen, it was a perfect way to begin our days adventures in Gent. Gratitude for a lovely start to a beautiful day!

We hit this place on a Sunday for some lunch. The soups were excellent, but the staff seemed overworked and not very friendly. I walked by the place earlier in the day and could see the ladies in the kitchen having a laugh and I really expected to see that level of energy and friendliness, but perhaps because it was later in the day and there was a rush of diners, but they were not very friendly or patient with us.

I was introduced to this great restaurant by a vegan friend who lives in Gent. I have to say Iâve already experienced vegan cuisine because my son joined the revolution 2 years ago. This understated yet homely restaurant offers the visitor the warmest of welcomes coupled with a passion for cooking not just a vegan option but the most wonderful use and adaptation of locally sourced ingredients in the healthiest way. The freshness of our food was incredible. The staff went to great lengths to provide information on every element of the menu so that we not only understood what was to arrive on the table but in so doing, created an element of anticipation. We were not disappointed!!!! Whow We chose to go with a set menu which began with organic vegan bread with olive oil with the most beautiful micro vegetables which are effectively seedling sprouts which look a little like cress but with a radish flavour. This was followed by a terrine of parsnip and celeriac soup accompanied by oyster mushrooms, a combination which I doubted but which was sensational. Then we had a tarte tatin of apple, celeriac and chicory accompanied by a salad of buckwheat, beetroot, orange segments and salad leaves. Finally we had a walnut pie dessert accompanied with herbal tea (the options were extensive) but suffice it to say we were all completely satisfied and nourished without that bloated feeling that we might otherwise have at the end of an evening. It was lovely to meet one of the chefs Jelmer and his partner Hannah who were tremendous hosts not just to our table but throughout the restaurant. I will be recommending this restaurant to anyone visiting Gent and canât wait to return. Really sorry but should have taken photos to give an idea of the charm and presentation. Next time. Thank you guys for a great experience.
