Tastebuds is a local restaurant that has a nice menu with multiple fish options. We started with the steamed clams which cooked perfectly but were seasoned with a little to much pepper flake. I had The bouillabaisse and my wife had the halibut. We both enjoyed our meals but again, mine was over seasoned with red pepper flakes. The broth was good but hard to overcome the pepper. The only real knock was the service. Josh disappeared for a short time and I caught him texting while we waited for him to bring our check. After leaving the check he returned 20 minutes later and apologized for not coming back earlier. We will definitely go back, but ask for a different server and a little less pepper.

I was reluctant to re-visit The Black Whale after the new owners had taken over. The reviews were not complimentary. I received a gift card to the restaurant, and after a day in Boston decided to stop by for drinks and appetizers. We sat at the bar, as the restaurant even at the early hour of 6PM had a 20 minute wait. Service was attentive, calamari and Thai chicken appetizer we ordered arrived promptly and were delicious. We also noticed the kitchen was efficient--dishes flying out, portions were not diminished and staff was responsive and attentive. I look forward to going back for dinner. Though the menus is slightly modified--more offerings--the restaurant was bustling. My only concern--with the events scheduled at the pier--there was limited parking. Otherwise, our experience was excellent.Good morning Carolyn, Glad you dined with us and you were pleasantly surprised. Overall the reviews have greatly improved as the guests realize this is not the old black whale - itâs something new and elevated. Business has been great. Happy to have you on board. Please be in touch, especially if we ever let you down! Thank you.

Stopped for a quick lunch/snack - got Italian classic sandwich and chicken rise soup - both absolutely delicious, generous portions, fresh ingredients, tasty bread (good variety of bread), fresh and tasty vegetables in the sandwich (no sad salad or dry old tomato), delicious Italian salami. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back if in the neighborhood. Highly recommend for a quick and easy snack or lunch.

We recently stopped by On the Go to grab a couple of sandwiches for lunch. Simply put, the sandwiches were excellent!! On the Go has a varied menu but I'm not sure my wife and I will ever get past the extensive sandwich selection! The shop is small but the staff is friendly and efficient. It's a bit tucked away off route 6 in Mattapoisett, but we strongly recommend On the Go to anyone who wants a quick, delicious lunch!
