Il Pentagramma is located just off Piazza Della Liberta very close to the information centre. The restaurant plays very atmospheric, soft music, is tastefully decorated and has a lot of charm. The food was amazing, the Steak with Tree Salts was cooked perfectly as was the Cod fish. Dessert too was very good. Fredrico, the waiter, was extremely friendly and helpful. A little more expensive than most restaurants inn Spoleto, but well worth it.

Get there early if they do not have the whole formal restaurant open. This place gets crowded fast. Our whole dinner, with wine, was 65 e for 2 and well worth it.

A friendly and informative host presides over this attractive outdoor garden setting in the heart of Spoleto. The host opened a bottle of the outstanding Sagrantino di Montefalco 2007 from Pozzo del Curato to serve us two glasses of it. We had two somewhat unusual first courses, a soup of Umbrian legumes with guanciale and peperoncino, and scrambled eggs with truffles. The soup was incredibly rich, with several different kinds of beans and lentils. The eggs were a new experience for us, with the finely minced truffles fully integrated in the flavor--a real winner. The pleasant surprises continued with the main courses. Sausage with smoked mozzarella (scamorza) melted on top? I didnât know what to expect, but this was great, accompanied by a plain green salad. My partner had the lamb sous vide al tartufo. Once again, we didnât know quite what to expect from lamb sous vide, being prejudiced in favor of grilling (we like the flavor of the fat on grilled lamb), but this tender cut of lamb was full of flavor yet allowed the truffle to have its say too--and the fat tasted good.We ended the meal with yet another surprise, an excellent Umbrian amaro recommended by the host: Vallenera. We recommend this restaurant highly for quality, service, and its promotion of local products.

We made a reservation for this restaurant a couple of weeks in advance because we had theatre during the Spoleto festival and wanted to have dinner before it. Naturally, we took the earliest time. When we arrived it was completely empty, but for some reason the woman who greeted us did not allow us to sit at the table we wanted. There was no reservation sign on it and she didnât give us any explanation. She pointed to three tables next to it and said we can sit at one of those just because we are first. The setting outside was really lovely. The weather was hot, but it got nicer in the evening and the street in which the restaurant is located was cute. We placed our order and saw people arriving one table after another. Quite fast it got busy. The duo that required about a table earlier, passing by, came back with another person and got the table that I wanted. That was weird and unpleasant. I liked where we were sitting but I didnât understand what was this whole big deal about it and it made me feel uneasy. I started the meal with a glass of white wine to pair it with my sformatino (rice with cream and truffle). After this I ordered a small carafe of red wine to go with my steak, but the woman didnât bring a new wine glass. My husband asked it for me. Beef filet was ordered medium-rare and even though there is no such concept in Italy (they donât have medium-rare or medium-well options), I expected it either rare or medium but not cooked through. You can see it on my photos. The cut is medium-well to well done. Meat was fresh and juicy though. I liked the taste of it. Obviously, because of the theatre, I didnât point it out or asked to replace it. We had the dessert and paid our bill. After all, an ok experience. If you are dining here, I suggest to order meat rare if you like it medium-rare. Inside rooms are very pretty too, so even if you are not dining outside, itâs still very nice.

Umbrian cuisine revisited. Local meats grilled specialties cooked to view in the large fireplace in the main room. Since the spring you can eat outside in the ancient court ... And the Tavern in the summer is always fresh course. Follow us on Facebook ..
We chose this place randomly when we visited the Sedano Nero festival. Turned out to be a good choice. They had several celery specialties whitch we tried. The celery soup, Parmesan celery tart, celery stuffed with sausage, all fun and good, why not during the fest?

We had six evening meals in this restaurant and all were superb. The cutting board is a work of art, a slightly different variation each evening but all beautifully presented and tasted divine. The veg was fresh from the garden. The restaurant is currently under development and the plans look great. Would love to return once the open plan kitchen is finished.I fell for the caldo freddo, meringue pudding. Andrea even gave me a cooking lesson so I don't have withdrawal symptoms now I am home. The hosts spoke limited English however could not have tried harder to make our 6 night experience special.Great experience all round.
