We finnished here, after trying to go to another restaurant, which was full. We heard they have good truffles. We ordered vegetable soup (it was very tasty and you could feel the home-made & home grown vegetables taste), pasta with truffles (it was ok, but overcooked and with very strong taste and smell of truffle oil) and some meat, which was also good. The best to say: owner went to the garden to take salad to prepared it to us. All in one, it was ok, but nothing special to recommend it to friends.
At his âosterijaâ situated in the truffle area of Slovenia, Daniel, a welcoming and jovial host, offers delicious cold meats and cheeses followed by plates of home made pasta heaped with shavings of local truffles. All for a fraction of the price one pays in France or Italy! A short drive from the A11 to Croatia, definitely worth a detour ! When we visited it was a little chilly so a fire was blazing in the central oven.

The food was very tasty and varied. We had a slight misunderstanding and they solved it instantly. Location might not be the best but you forget that quickly because the atmosphere is nice. Feels genuine. Also as someone who always wears shorts and skirts, I was happy about the padding on my chair haha!

Restaurant Korte is a true local restaurant, where guests can enjoy the Primorsko ambience, fresh air and local specialities.
We have been in this local Istrian restaurant Korte with our family and we ate slices bold ham with grate horseradish and olive bread for the starter and grill sea bass with spinach and potatos. The food was very tasteful and fish was fresh. We fulfill our food desires and left the restaurant satisfied. We highly recommend.

We were there with the family for dinner and were absolutely stunned how great the food was. We had a fantasic 4 course dinner and enjoyed every single dish we got. The owner is a lovely person who explains everything in details, knows and loves cooking and you notice immediately that this is his passion. Excellent food and excellent service in a relaxing atmosphere with great view. We were happy that we found this little gem. Reservation is recommended as the restaurant is not that big (although we were lucky and got a seat with coming in like that, but we arrived pretty early).

I have write a report two or even more years before. By accident I have returned. It was not been my choice and I was almost a little angry about it. However I have take the whole launch here again. Just ... at my surprise a lot has changed. A lot! The food is much much better. Whatever i have tried it was perfect. Also the staff was been far more better then before. The price of the meal has rise but I can survive if the other thing is that much better. Congrats to the owner. The moral of the story for me is that: give another chance to person maybe you can be surprised!

The heart of the restaurant is a big open fireplace. On its fire, we boil minestrones and polenta in brass pots and flip fresh Adriatic fish, Florentine steaks or homemade sausages on the grill. Occasionally a lamb, kid or an octopus ends up under the bel
Na Burji is a typical Istrian restaurant with cozy interior and great garden in front. You have to drive a little further away from Portoroz to the hills, but believe me that it's worth the trip. The staff is very kind and treats you almost like family. The food is extraordinary. They use local ingredients in their Istrian cuisine. They don't have the classic menu, but they rather tell you which seasonal dishes are available at the moment. We had beef carpaccio with figs for the on-tray. You can taste an extraordinary sour-sweet combination. The main course was the Fiorentina steak which is the restaurant's speciality. It is served on a wooden plate with crispy potatoes and freshly grilled veggies. Their house wine is very good, the best thing is to order Refosco with your steak.

We didn't plan to stop here, but there was slowly moving traffic jam on the way to Croatia and we spotted this restaurant. The parking is on one side of the road and the restaurant is on other side, a bit adventure to cross the road but it worth. It looks like a small family restaurant, friendly stuffs (the waiteress serving us could speak English, German and Italian). They offer a lot of seafood dishes and grill specialities). We spent one hour there, and worth it.

The building is beautiful, shining clean, amazing views, the ambiance is just perfect. We were kindly greeted by the staff, and taken to our table. We ordered a four-course degustation menu. All the dishes are freshly made and delicious. There are about six dishes in the first course, then pasta, then two beef steaks, and then two desserts including a lovely gluten-free cake. In total, we ate about ten dishes and all of them unforgettable. The server was superb. He was there for us all the time. We have not felt waiting or searching for him not even for a moment. Financial-wise: The four-course degustation menu is more than worth the money. We were more than full and the cost is not even high for what we got. The champagnes are not expensive either: 72 for a bottle of Clicquot in a good restaurant is a more-than-fair price. Hisa Torkla made our evening unforgettable. We will come back to Torkla for sure but it will be hard for them to beat that night.

Stari Kastel: the enthusiastic reviews you are getting are WELL DESERVED ! Thank you, StariKastel chef and whole team for making this an unforgettable birthday evening. Gourmet food and wine presented and explained professionally by most competent waiter Alex; smooth and never-too-loud jazz vibes in the background, spectactular panorama sunset. You guys are the best. Somewhat pricey, if you choose the ingenious 5- or 7-dish menus with wine accompaignment, but it's well worth it. Most importantly: If you run into a traffic jam at the nearby Slov-Cro border and have to wait an hour: DO NOT TURN BACK ! You don't want to miss the StariKastel experience !!! Leo K.Vienna, Austria
