28 years ago, Mamma Santina, decided to open her kitchen to the public and offer a taste of typical aeolian cuisine and warm hospitality. 28 years down the line, the same recipes, taught to her by her granmothers, have been passed on to the following gene
We first visited the beautiful Isole Eolie 12 years ago after I saw Il Postino. I fell madly in love with Salina and dreamt of returning some day to the same hotel where we were then hosted by a young and enthusiastic chef owner, Mario, and his fiancée. We returned yesterday and found that Salina was still the same magical place but the charm of Mamma Santina had eroded. It is no more a charming hotel with a passionate owner at the helm. Perhaps first time visitors may not notice, but now there are distant but pleasant and helpful staff( lots for the size) and Mario is around but appears to have run out of steam. On the plus side our suite with a huge private terrace was unbeatable. We would bring our breakfast up to our terrace every morning and have coffee and fresh croissants with the glistening Mediterranean below. The breakfasts were lovely with fresh breads, pastries, and home made conserves. We had lunch and dinner on the first day and our grilled fish was superb but the mixed salad was sub standard. Our stay was lovely, our suite gorgeous but the feeling of coming home was missing so alas we will return to Salina but stay somewhere else. Dear Sudha, I truly appreciate your feedback and I am glad that you enjoyed your room and the meals. I am so sorry to read that your experience didnât fulfill your expectations, I wish you had reach out to me directly for any questions or comments during your stay, maybe we didnât have the chance because at the moment of your departure I wasnât present. The only certainty, for me, is that today as 12 years ago I work with the same enthusiasm and I hope that in the future, giving us another chance, I will be able to prove it to you.Have a safe trip home,Mario

Six of us had an great meal here - simple pasta dishes, pizza and fresh fish. Outside seating under a cover ., which was great because we got to watch a torrential downpour while eating (do not eat inside the restaurant - very small and hot). Service was slow because there was only one waitress - she was doing the best she could, but the restaurant was crowded. Other than that a truly enjoyable meal at a reasonable cost.

This has the privilege of being smack in the centre of Malfa town overlooking the church square which becomes a hive o activity on special occasions. Bar has a nice casual feel about it and this leads to an outdoor annexe for al fresco dining. They serve up a good country meal. Service is variable depending who is on duty but most evenings it's lively and quite well patronised and great for people watching in small village.

l ristorante del Signum è pura esperienza gastronomica di sapori Eoliani. E' guidato da Martina Caruso, chef-patron più giovane stellata Michelin d'Italia. Ogni dettaglio è pensato per rendere il pasto un momento indimenticabile. I piatti, vere e proprie
This was the worst Michelin experience I ever had so far ! Ridiculously long waits just to get some bread and for the sommelier to come to our table. Tasteless food thatâs not worth the price. Nothing stood out and some of the dishes did not work at all. Especially the cappelletti with rabbit. Warm wine brought to the table with a delay which was exacerbated by the attempt of getting it to a drinkable temperature (30 min since order to actually be able to drink a glass).Definitely not recommended and not up to the standard of a Michelin star restaurant. Huge disappointment !

Caper At The Farm is located on the island of Salina Pollara. We produce and sell the famous capers of Salina, the most good in the world for taste, aroma, fragrance, and compactness. The Caper of Salina is part of Slow Food. The company managed a family
With an amazing sunset, gorgeous food, delicious service, handsome surroundings, elegant preparation - how can you go wrong? What could I say except that I love and adore this restaurant!!! When you order, for instance, a melanzana parmigiana here, you taste how it's really supposed to be done. Seared tuna that you're told will be rare in the middle, really is! Pastas are fabulous and everything is just perfect! We loved this place. And a special "hello" to our great server Virginia and her staff! We adore you all (especially Virginia!!) Thank you for two most unforgettable evenings!!!We hope to be back some day!!!

Once again we unfortunately relied on the review of someone who doesnât understand much about produce quality, food presentation and service. Everything was of low quality. The swordfish rolls that we ordered for our daughter were refried and burnt, totally soaked in oil. We got two âalalungaâ and have to leave it on the plate partially as it had the black parts not removed, so it tasted too much of cooked blood. Tasted like black pudding to me! The side dish were grilled vegetables soaked in oil. They said they make them hours in advance. Not even bothering to make them on the spot! I asked for black pepper to grind on my fish. No luck! They didnât even invest in a grinder :). The house wine tasted bad. The restaurant faces the street, so expect the fumes from many motorcycles passing by.

Really enjoyed this restaurant - excellent simple food, fresh, delicious, local, reasonably priced and the family who runs the restaurant could not have been nicer. Had pastas, fresh fish and excellent salads. This was one of those feel good meals, where everything works, from the food to the service to the atmosphere to the beautiful view. Would definitely return.

After 15 years of living and travelling in Italy, dinner here was up there with the best. A wonderful welcome from Aldo and then superb cooking from his wife Erminia in their family agriturismo, almost entirely from their own organic produce (so fabulous for vegetarians). We ate with Italian foodie friends who were similarly wowed and we are all still talking about the quality the morning after. So it wasnât just the excellent Malvasia that went with it!

The best place to eat something fast and fresh!Il miglior posto dove consumare qualcosa di veloce e fresco!!Chiusura stagionale dal 20/10 al 30/03 dell'anno successivo.
You'll not find it if you're expecting to find a cafe in a building. It's just a makeshift food truck on the side of the road on the way to the beach.Câe Stato un tempo in cui assomigliava a un bar perché organizzato a tal punto da farlo sembrare. Alcune foto lo dimostrano! Questâanno è stato purtroppo abbiamo dovuto fare delle modifiche in peggio. Ma miglioreremo per il prossimo anno!!
