The last time we visited about three weeks prior, we had an excellent experience with properly cooked food and attentive sevice all while the restaurant was extremely busy. Because of the awesome dinner we had, we brought a couple from Newport News over to share in the experience. Unfortunately, tonight we we very disappointed. We had the pork chop, two orders of prime rib, and the Mongo burger. Food came out cold. Prime rib, vegetables, and the fries were all cold. Good flavor, but not the quality we expected and wanted to share with visitors. Even the rolls were brought out after the dinner arrived and even those were cold. We mentioned it to the waitress and the manager came out to see what the issue was. Repeated the issue of the cold food and he offered to bring more fries and thanked us for letting him know and he would go back to the kitchen and make a "teaching moment" out of it. Stated that there were quite a few large parties in the restaurant, but unless a large party is a table of 4 or more, I am not seeing but 1 table of 6. Not happy with this experience and definitely not what we expected. Going to be a long time before we attempt this again, if ever. Not even a discount offered. What a shame.

My daughter and I love seafood and after attending the Deltaville Seafood Festival, we wanted fresh seafood so we scouted out the York River Oyster Company. It was so pleasant sitting outside by the water and the service was top notch. We had the Oysters Rockefeller which were excellent and perfectly prepared. We also had fresh oysters on the half shell which were so fresh and good! YUMI had the Seafood Trio for lunch and the sauce was light and flavor-full. My daughter had the Tuna Tower and was not at all disappointed. It was not only colorful but the perfect blend of tuna and avocado. Great meal with great service!!

Dare Deli has really good food with superior ingredients. The fish & chips may be the best I've ever had. The mahi sandwich and grilled shrimp caeser salad are wonderful. My son loves the buffalo chicken sandwich. EVERYTHING we have ever gotten is great. It is take out only...wish we could dine in since it is not close.

Located inside the Duke of York Hotel on Yorktown Beach, we are Yorktown's longest running restaurant, serving our guests since 1976. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Several of us met here for breakfast this week. The coffee was great and you decide if you want Styrofoam cups or regular mugs. Great idea! There were a lot of us and I don't think the staff was prepared for all of us but they did a great job trying. The food was very good. I got the Cheese Omlet with sourdough bread. It was delicious. Two of my friends got the spicy bacon BLT. From their comments they were happy but said to only get this if you like hot stuff. I will be back but next time I want to try the crabcake sandwich. Thank you!!

Bubba's is a casual, relaxed eating venue. The food was outstanding. We had the flounder and shrimp basket along with baked beans and green beans. Everything was well prepared and delicious. It came with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce and remoulade, all fresh and tasty. My only "complaint" is that only the shrimp can be ordered steamed or fried. Everything else is Fried Only. I would love to have the option of a grilled or baked fish filet, although I must say the flounder was probably the best I have ever have. There is no doubt that we will come back to Bubba's again and again, but I hope they can find a way too offer more healthfully prepared entrees.

We were plannig to go to a nearby restaurant, but found no seating there and opted for lunch indoors here after a long, hot morning exploring the exhibits in Yorktown. Great view of the river. Lunch prices were less than $20 per person, and portion sizes were appropirate. The bacon cheeseburger was huge, others really enjoyed the duck BLT, as well as the Mahi taco bowl and crab melt. Fresh garlic bread was served while waiting.

Our family had a great lunch here before exploring the Yorktown Battlefield. Softshell crab special was fantastic and the fish and chips special with fresh meaty haddock was great. Our kids burgers looked good too. Our waitress was really attentive and sweet. Beautiful view as it is literally right at the beach. Parking was easy, just in front of the restaurant. I would definitely come back again.
