Great experience, food fantastic, just like being on holiday. Will definitely be coming again soon, and lovely to have such a wide choice of specials. Very hospitable and friendly staff too!

We have made many visits to Thompsons while working in North Yorkshire. Their standards are very high, infact top of the shops. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They care about keeping standards high and customers satisfied. The fish is amazingly fresh and lots of it even in the pensioners portions.My family where two generations of fish fryers from 1934 to 1990. Thompsons are better than my family who were great. Better than Harry Ramsdens at their peak and Whetherby whalers all have high standards. In my experience the best I've found in the UK.Disabled toilets, great ambiance, large car park. Take away and eat in.Well worth a trip.

Been coming here for 3 years while on holiday always been very good not so this time, restaurant was very cold, ordered scallops 10.95 came only 3 small scallops lukewarm tried to get waiters attention but was unable to do so only noticed when hubby had finished his starter which was ok, to be fair did take it off the bill, mains hubby had seafood curry very nice I had plaice very nice but fries hard certainly not to usual standards service poor won't be coming next year. Hi zaraward, we are sorry to read your comments, this is not how we normally operate and we pride ourselves on excellent service and food, it is disappointing to read this was not the case on this occasion.
