As I mentioned in my previous review of this restaurant, The Lobster Trap used to be one of my husband's all-time favourite restaurants. He had been visiting it for decades, first with his parents when it was on Avenue Road, then with me and our children, and now since the restaurant has moved, we drive over 35KM! just so that he can get his fix. His birthday, Christmas treats, Father's Day - we always knew what he wanted. We've eaten at The Lobster Trap at least three times since my review in August, 2017, and had noticed that things didn't seem to be as good as they used to be. There always seemed to be problems with the meal that we had to ask to have put right, and although they weren't large, these issues had begun to add up to a not great experience. We went back a few weeks ago, and it was our last time.It was a family celebration. There were four of us. One doesn't like seafood and ordered the grilled chicken in a white wine lemon sauce, and salad. Two ordered lobster bisque and steamed lobster with a baked potato, and I had Atlantic salmon, and salad. The salads and soups were fine. The mains however, were overwhelmingly disappointing. My salmon was dried out and overcooked. I didn't feel like dealing with it. This was supposed to be a happy occasion and it was my husband's favourite place so I didn't want to make a fuss. I didn't say anything, and I just ate it. My daughter's chicken was so overcooked however, so dried out and tough, that she literally could not cut it with her knife. We asked for a replacement. Both my husband's "steamed" lobster AND baked potato were cold inside. Cold INSIDE? How does that happen? For a lobster that's supposedly just come out of the steamer? He was so disappointed that his old favourite restaurant had gone so far down hill that he didn't say anything either. Once we got outside and began comparing notes it seemed that everyone's meals, except for my son's lobster and baked potato, had been a big disappointment. Normally we speak up when there is something wrong with a meal we've paid for but we were all so let down, particularly after our three previous visits that weren't great, and that should have told us that it wouldn't be good, that there didn't seem much point. It's a shame, but there are other, much better, lobster restaurants in this city. We won't be back to The Lobster Trap.

We were at Tigoâs again last evening and our dinner was as good as ever. From being genuinely greeted upon our arrival to ordering food and beverages to dinner service and all and all excellent service we love coming here. Our seafood mixed grilled platter was delicious and the establishment was packed. Tigo has a very warm and friendly ambience and although not large in size it feels like home. Great value for the money and well worth going. We will definitely be returning!

This quaint restaurant, tucked into a small strip mall behind a gas station, surpassed my expectations. The food was outstanding as was the service. We were out celebrating a special birthday with family and the staff went out of their way to make the evening very memorable.
