Visited Captain Marden's because we were going to a business nearby. With the exception of the fried scallops, everything else was poor to average. The cornbread to start was dry, the fried clams were mushy and tasteless, the coleslaw was just barely seasoned beyond plain cabbage, and the tartar sauce had a weird slimy quality to it that was really off-putting. No liquor license and spotty service. Would definitely not return given the wealth of other seafood restaurants in the area that are much, much better.

I am not a fan of their sister restaurant the Cottage. This is completely different. Imaginative, inspired, fresh ingredients- creative cocktails. The brussel sprouts are excellent as are the crab lettuce wraps. Not a fan of the duck nachos: the tarte tatin was delicious: the waitress was so friendly as are the host staff, and bartenders- a diametric opposite to the Cottage that is mot customer service focused and has management that dont seem to care ( as evidenced by not one Management Response to any review of the Cottage).

Two of us had a quiet business lunch here and had different seafood dishes. (I had previously eaten here 10+ years ago.)Fish was well prepared, FF's were cooked and crisp, cole slaw was flavorful.Well worth the effort.

Minado provides an amazing variety of sushi, seafood and shellfish in its buffet restaurant. They have dozens of kinds of sushi rolls, sashimi, yakitori of all kinds (shrimp, squid, teriyaki chicken) as well as roasted and deep fried whole fish like pollock or haddock, a whole Chilean sea bass and an entire array of salads with seaweed, eggplant, asparagus, lettuce and kimchi and mixed salads of all kinds. They also have and entire dumpling area with shrimp, crab, and pork dumplings and a while shellfish area with crab, clams, mussels, shrimp and many other types of cold and warm shellfish dishes. The dessert bar is also pretty good with fruit and jello options and a soft serve ice cream machine with vanilla and chocolate ice cream. If you can't find something you like, you just don't like seafood!Pricing is fixed price all-you-can-eat with lunch at $17.95 Monday-Friday and $21.95 on Sat.-Sun. and holidays.Dinner is $31.95 on Mon.-Fri. and $33.95 on Sat.-Sun. and holidays.Kids are priced by height--half price for 5ft and over, quarter priced for 4 feet or shorter and free for 3 feet and under!Well worth it--everything is very fresh and the place is very clean with friendly and helpful service.Be prepared to arrive early as it gets very crowded at the buffet sometimes.Plan to be there at the opening at 11:45 or noon for lunch and 6PM for dinner service on Mon.-Fri. And by 5PM on Sat.-Sun.They serve lunch until 2:15PM Mon-Fri. and 3PM other days and dinner until 9:15PM Mon.-Thurs. and until 9:30PM on Fri.-Sat. And 9PM on Sunday. Be sure to get there to start eating at least a half hour before closing time.Great place for a large family or group. They also serve drinks including beer, wine and sake.Good place to go before if after shopping at the Natick malls, but be sure to bring an appetite--so many things to choose from.
