My wife and I had dinner there since we stayed at the Andaz. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bar tender while we ate. What a fun evening! Food was perfect as was the lovely evening eating under the stars. Fantastic and so worth it.

We went there for dinner twice since we stayed in the Marriott. The food were actually quite tasty and the plates were much bigger than our expectation. The staff were also quite nice. Given the location and proposition (modern+fusion+local combined cuisine I suppose) of the restaurant, it's not expensive at all.I'm not sure whether August is not a peak season for Maui anymore, but we didn't see a lot of people there.

Beginning with Darrin who was happy to accommodate our special request (with several weeksâ notice) for the 15 vegetable chopped salad. We enjoy that so much every year and in fact, ordered it on two separate evenings while dining there. There were also three professionals who, on both evenings, made the meal delicious in their warmth, friendliness, and competence. At the front desk, Simone was helpful, respectful, and engaging. Likewise, Lynn, our highly competent and knowledgeable server, knew the details of each dish well and became our expert guide through some new dishes. In this case, suggesting the lamb and Bolognese tagalinni. She remembered with precision all the things we would like, such as sparkling water and pillows for my back. To complete the trifecta, Amanda, the manager, was dynamic, engaging, and enormously helpful. With her sparkling personality, she made sure that every little morsel of food was up to the highest standards. These three should conduct professional development for all dining staff.

We had high hopes given our very positive experience at Ferraro, across the swimming pool at the 4 Seasons. This was a disappointment. Beginning with the waiter who kept recommending the most expensive items on the list (blatant upsell), the overall experience was just average. I had the Triple Play Seafood which was about 2/3 good-- the lobster was dry and tasteless. The boys had a burger and the chicken and reported they were fine, but not exceptional. All of this would be ok except this ended up being the most expensive meal we had all week. $650 for party of 5.

The staff at this restaurant were very attentive and very professional. The food was excellent and as guaranteed, the fish was fresh. Our party of four ordered a variety of dishes and all were excellent. While this is a chain restaurant, the atmosphere and food was excellent.

Ka'ana Kitchen use to be one of our most favorite restaurants to visit in Maui. The entrance to the Andaz is stunning and the food was the edible equivalent. Naturally we were very excited to dine on our most recent trip but this time fell short...what happened you ask? As usual, I'm going to start with the positive...the restaurant is clean, the staff attentive and accommodating. I have very specific notes on my reservations and the staff was excellent at accommodating us and really made us feel like they cared which was great. The food was solid, just not a standout as in previous trips. Nothing was bad at all, everything tasted fine but is overpriced now compared to other high-end restaurants in the area for what Ka'ana is offering. With that said, nothing stood out either and some pairings were strange (goat cheese on your octopus anyone? That got scraped off to the side...) Here are what we felt were missteps: 1. Screaming children. I understand the restaurant can't control the vocal cords of a child however, they can turn children away after a certain hour to spare the rest of us...especially on vacation. 2. The pool bar directly below the restaurant gets noisy and obnoxious and interferes with dinner. It was completely ridiculous that we had to listen to drunk girls shouting at each other for some unknown reason however we could all hear it, as clear as day. 3. One of the servers "helpers" didn't tell us that they had free sparkling house water and instead when we inquired about sparkling water only told us about the Pellegrino which of course aids in the raising of the overall bill. I don't care about paying for water exactly but at the same time, the free option should have been communicated. Lastly, their alcohol pricing is VERY high. A drink that is costly at $15 in a major city (NYC, LA, Chicago) was $20 there for no apparent good reason. I could see it being $16 or $17 to make up for the fact that they had to get it to Hawaii but an extra $5 a drink was absurd. Overall, I think you'll have to decide if you care about dining next to a screaming child (I vote a very strong NO), then you have to decide if loud drunkards screaming below with bother you (again, a solid NO Dice for us) then when weighing the food against those two annoyances...we won't be returning. There's just no reason to.

We just returned from a week stay at Hotel Wailea and enjoyed the restaurant on property. We ate breakfast multiple days on the property and enjoyed dinner one evening. All of the meals met our expectations and the view cannot be beat. Highly recommend the pancakes with coconut whipped cream and toasted pineapple. For dinner, the duck breast and king crab spaghetti were flavorful options, as well as the tomato and risotto starters.Be sure to book a reservation for dinner at a time when you can watch the sunset.
