El pequeño aforo del nocal no tiene nada que ver con los platos que sirven. Como buen restaurante de Vinaròs su cocina está basada en los productos de la zona, sobre todo de la mar, aunque tambien se sirven buenas carnes.

We were staying at nearby Benicarlo and ventured out to Vinaros in search of our evening meal. The intention was to try one of the highly rated establishments, but sadly it was closed on Monday night when we visited. We looked at the various sea front bars and pizzerias and opted for restaurant Miramar. The restaurant was empty at eight pm; not uncommon as the locals don't contemplate an evening meal until at least nine in the evening. One of the staff spoke a little English, which combined with my limited Spanish enabled us to communicate quite well. An English language menu also helped considerably! The restaurant is a nice size and comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean; the other staff were engaged in ensuring that the outside tables were equally well presented. We opted for fish given the location. My wife chose roasted aubergine and peppers served on toasted ciabatta and topped with marinated anchovies. I went for fried fresh anchovies or boqueronis.. We were first served a small complimentary starter of melon and ham which was lovely. The starters were really good. My wife's starter had aubergine which had been oven roasted in its skin with the flesh then spread over the ciabatta. My really fresh fried anchovies had been lightly dusted in flour and fried in a neutral oil - spot on.We both opted for dover sole as mains. The fish had been fried on the plancha and was accompanied by grilled tomato, asparagus, mushroom, small padron peppers and sauted potatoes. Accompanying sauces were tomato and mint based. A really nice touch was the fact that our waiter took the sole off the bone at the table. The waiter also recommended a nice dry blanco to accompany the fish which again was spot on.We could not manage a sweet; coffee was again good accompanied by a complimentary digestive. Think the bill equated to about £38 - very good value give the quality of the food on offer.

We have been here in October 2019.All of us had the 'menu del dia' and it was great. As a starter me and my wife had a pan of mussels and other shellfish. Never had a dish like that packed with flavours! Awesome. Our mains were also great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Not the cheapest, not the best but definitely worth a visit !

We were in Vinarós. A large family group. No reservation. Peak season. We would have taken anything, but the staff quickly set up a great terrasse table by the beach.I usually reframe n from sea food platters, expensive and tasteless, but here is neither. Great seafood, super price, and a wine bottle included.Go, it's worth it.

Wonderful modern decorated Restaurant with great service and food. We were recommended this restaurant by a local sales lady in a clothes store. It is a bit hidden, close to the "Plaza de Torros" but that was no problem, we could even park our car in front of the door! The food of the menu they had this day was excellent, especially the "Pulpo". Good value for your money, a menu for 20 Euros including 3 starters, paella, wine, dessert and coffee. Definitely worth repeating here again!!

We were looking for a light lunch in Vinaros! Went past Calafat and noticed their A Board with details of the menu del dia. Decor is excellent and the meal, with a clear seafood and fish influence reflecting the area was excellent in all respects. We wish we had discovered it earlier in the week. There full menu offers lots of choice.I suggest the fish soop and the pasta dish.Simply brilliant and we will visit again when we return to Vinaros.

We took the "menu tradicional" @ lunch which cost 35EURO and does not include wine nor cafe. This is very expensive for Vinaros so expectations are also very high. The food was good and well presented. Environment is nice weather you eat inside or outside. Portion are not very big but we were not hungry when leaving. Overall ok so deserve an average rating. I feel it is too pricy compared to others and will not try it again.

Restaurant El Barco

El Barco is shut from Sunday lunchtime to Tuesday evening. We managed to eat on a quiet Wednesday lunchtime when only two tables were in use. The canopy over the outside seating are gave good shade & made it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal.Rather oddly we were not asked what drinks we would like after we had sat down? We were given English translated menu which strangely didn’t even list the drinks? No idea what beer they serve there as we had soft drinks. We ordered cheese & ham omelette & cheese & ham Iberico pork escalopes, these came with chips & a small amount of vegetable ragu. Bread was brought out while we waited for the food. Some places offer this for free, but El Barco charge €1. It isn’t much to pay, however, it is annoying when extras are charged when you had not asked for them. I would also suggest El Barco give a side plate hen bringing out bread, so you can pour olive oil onto it without spilling it all over the tablecloth?Food was great; no problem there. Service however was abrupt & came across as almost rude. Almost all restaurants we have visited in Spain, have had excellent waiting staff. I know the pay is terrible & we always leave a tip, even when service is included because the both waiting staff & kitchen staff work hard & deserve it. El Barco, loses points because I felt like we were an inconvenience to the waiting staff. It is also important to have a friendly waiter/waitress & a good atmosphere, but El Barco, we quickly ate our €30 lunch & were glad to leave. Will not be returning & would only recommend if the staff treat all customers with the respect they deserve. Shame because the food was fabulous.Hello, thanks for coming to our restaurant. We are glad to hear you liked our food. We are sorry about your feeling with our waiter but we are always good known for great feelings with people. We hope next time you feel better, see you soon!
