A very nice restaurant, located in Villasimius. The restaurant has nice food and nice staff, equaling to a nice visit. But I would strongly advise an early arrival as it is very popular. For smokers, the restaurant provides a sheltered external area on the outside which is not prohibited from smoking.

We had dinner a couple of times during our vacation in Sardinia. Pay attention to ask for a table outdoor otherwise can be very hot. The starters like roasted pecorino or a selection of cheese are very good. You must try "fregola con arselle", this is a typical pasta with clams. As a main course you can have different types of fish, i.e. swordfish, prawns or a grilled selection of local fresh fish.Thank you for taking the time to evaluate your experience with us.We hope see you again in our Restaurant.

Though the ham, melon, mussels and wine did taste great, the lobster made me loose my appetite. Though the waitress were very service minded throughout the meal, the great shock came when we got the bill.In the English menu it was written that the lobster had a cost of 12 euros per pound and the fish had a cost of 6 euros per pound. We google pound to be sure of how many grams a pound consisted of, to ensure that we did not exceed our limited travel budget. One pound is about 453,59237 grams and thus we ordered a 900 gram lobster, 600 gram fish, expecting to pay 24 euros and about 7 euros. It is possible we should have realized that the prices were a bit low, however we all expected the prices in the menu to be correct. After we already had ordered and eaten the lobster three italian speaking friends of ours arrived. We were greatly shocked when we got the bill charging about 120 euros for the lobster and 36 euros for the fish. It turned out that in the italian menu the prices where given in hecto and not in pounds. That is 12 euros per 100 grams and not 12 euros per 450 grams and so forth. Knowing that we would not have ordered lobster in the first place if we had been given the "italian prices", we complained to the waitress. She understood quickly our issue, it almost seemed like they had experienced the same thing before. She said she was sorry, and that she had to talk to the director. After a short while she came back to explain that the director was not present and she did not have authority to change the bill. She would give us some time to discuss the matter. While discussing the matter we noticed that a man who had been in the restaurant bar and sitting in a couch near by and which had been talking to our waitress had changed couch so that we could only see his hand. We found this to be an odd coincidence. My friend which have studied accounting went through the bill and calculated what we had to pay if we were to pay what it was written in the English menu. We decided that paying more than four times the price for the lobster and fish than was written in the menu in the language we understood was not acceptable, and that the same had probably happened before to other customers, and would probably happen again if we would just paid what it said. We asked the waitress to come back and explained that we had decided to pay what was written in the English menu.Suddenly the man in the couch came in a hurrying almost saying in a high tempered voice that we did not need to pay for the lobster. My friend who is always very calm and well tempered, turned to him and said that is good, I guess we have reached an agreement, and offered the palm of his hand. Instead of taking his hand, presumably the director hits my friends arm. Our italian friend (who came after we've already ordered) started to discuss with him, asking how come the prices where only correct in the italian menu and not in any of the foreign languages. The director claimed that we ripped him off and in the end walked out slamming the door in the receptions. The waitress however defended us.We did not feel like staying and finishing the local drink we had gotten right before we got the bill, instead we decided paid what was written in the English menu and went straight home. I hope they have changed their menu by now, but if not be aware of misleading prices in the menu, and if some prices seem too good to be true, probably they are.

We were in Sardinia in May and hadn't appreciated that your average Sardinian doesn't emerge from hibernation until June! Consequently, most restaurants were closed or on limited opening hours. Il Saraceno is a hotel as well and open all year. It was also within a twenty minute walk of our villa so we decided to give it a try.The restaurant is upstairs and with an open balcony or an enclosed section. Both have great views. We chose indoors. There was no shortage of tables as, I suspect, the hotel was far from full at this time of year and local villas were not yet occupied. There were two other tables in use, besides the five of us.The menu was extensive so there was no shortage of choice. We all found dishes that we fancied and also wine and other drinks to suit us.The food delivered to our table was attractive, tasty and generous in quantity. We all enjoyed our dishes and there was also enough for us to try what others had chosen as well. At the end we felt we had been well fed.The total for the five of us, food as well as drinks, came to 231 Euros, so not unreasonable for the meal we had had. However, oddly, the tab listed *every* item as "Ristorante", so we had no record of what each of us had eaten and drunk. Still the length of the list looked right and the price about what we were expecting so I don't think there was anything underhand going on.

Il Veliero è un locale a conduzione familiare nato nel 1987. Offre servizio Bar, Ristorante - specialità della cucina locale di terra e di mare - e Pizzeria.
We had fried calamari for starter that tasted ok. Mind you they don't offer any dips with calamari. Husband ordered Sardinian pasta dish with sausages that was quite tasty, very traditional. My fish course was something else. Sea bass with white wine sauce as described on the menu came swimming in a broth of cooked wine, possibly the worst fish I have ever eaten. Did not enjoy it at all, luckily there was so much of the squid from the starter that I was full. As there is not much choice in Solanas, we did come back another night for takeaway pizza, recommended by locals and it was very good indeed. So hit and miss with this one, but with a very extensive menu they offer, something you could predict.

This is a lovely little beach side restaurant with plain simple food helpful staff and nice ambience. If you are looking for smart and sophisticated then go elsewhere, if you want a happy informal local beach side restaurant give this place a go. Simple straight forward menu on a board , not an extensive choice but well cooked and fresh, great way to end a day on the beach or to watch the sun go down.

Unfortunately we arrived hungry after travelling all day. We saw most people had pizza but we chose from the menu which wasn't a good move as the pasta and the Fregola were very average when you compare what we've had in Sardenia since our arrival. I think if you stick to Pizza you will be OK. House wine is great and really well priced.

Went here 3 times and each time the service was good, if a little inconsistent. On our first visit we got a free welcome drink (sparkling wine) which was much appreciated but not repeated on subsequent visits sadly. The food was generally really good, but they really struggle when it's busy and the non-pizza items take longer to arrive. The pizzas are excellent and we had some very good a la carte dishes too - the tuna steak was excellent! However I ordered the fillet of beef and 2 occasions; first time asked for medium, second time well done. Both times it came rare - an occupational hazard for Italy I guess when steak is only served one way.Couple of fabulous staff. The manager was always very friendly and spoke good English, plus a couple of the female staff were exceptional. The young male waiters were a bit hit and miss though, with one in particular not appreciating we complaining of a small wine measure - we ordered 2 glasses and 1 glass had a visibly smaller measure than the other. He topped up the offending glass but didn't seem amused! As with all 3 restaurants in this little town, they fall apart when it's busy but on warm nights you don't really mind; especially when the staff are good. This was our favorite of the 3 places as the food was always good and the staff made the difference. More expensive than the other 2 but worth it.

Visited this restaurant in the end of September 2018. Had no plan to go there but passing by (located right on the road) decided to stop and check the menu. They have Michelin recommend sticker on the door and we went in. Interior is nothing special and a bit from 70-ies. We had:Spaghetti with botarga - 16 eurCozze (mussles) Grilled eel fish - 13 eur Spaghetti basil tomato We found out that restaurant was almost fully booked though located generally speaking in the middle of nowhere. All in all food was all right but not impressive, service was not so friendly. If you are passing by and have a chance to visit this place - do it but if you think to drive here for some kilometers - not worth imho.
