There is no more sincere love than the love for good food. The address where gastronomy and conviviality find each other.
The food was very good and with had a lot of flavours - family business with husband and wife - very nice reception and relaxed atmosphere - the menus were only in Flemish or French - The lady could not speak english but that did not put any barriers to our enjoyment of the food as the lady was very accommodating

Excellent restaurant. Very friendly and polite peolpe who run the place. Everything is fresh and made when you order it. Fishsoup is outstanding with toast, bread and rouille. Baked fish was delicious with homemade tartare sauce. Good price-quality. Will come back to try the shrimp croquettes, vol-au-vent and beef stew.Beste,Bedankt voor deze mooie beoordeling,We hopen u snel terug te mogen verwelkomen.

Restaurant Puur Genieten in the Flemish town of Torhout (about 20 km from Bruges) is very easy to find because it is situated almost opposite the Saint Rembert hospital (Sint Rembertziekenhuis ). We had lunch here on a Saturday, when the restaurant is only open upon reservation, with a company of seven people and were the only customers. Four of us chose the set three course menu, which was excellent. The starter was a surprising deer carpaccio, which was more refined than the traditional beef carpaccio. The main course was pheasant with a mushroom risotto and a bouquet of vegetables. Deserts included an excellent soft lemon meringue, a nice crème brûlée (burnt cream) and a moelleux au chocolat (chocolate lava cake). A la carte, we tried lamb crown, sole, scampi and scallops. The lamb was tender and cooked to perfection, the fish was fresh and well-cooked. Not only did the food taste nice, it also smelled divinely. The coordination of the different orders was absolutely perfect. The young chef came to check on us to see if everything was to our liking. Service was friendly, but the waitress seemed a bit stressed at times. Maybe it was because it was Saturday or because, in a large group of family and friends some people might not immediately be aware that they have been asked a question by the waitress. All in all, this meal at Puur Genieten was a very pleasant experience, well worth a detour.
