This was our upteenth visit in ten years. This time was a birthday dinner for my wife.Welcomed warmly as always by the head waiter. He knew us straight away, and removed our reservation tab from arrival list without confirming the name.We were asked if he could take our jackets to be hanged up,always a good sign we think.Ambiance was relaxed, decor has a soothing effect, nice low lighting but not low enough so you cannot see.We both took a pre meal drink, and we took the "wild(Game) menu" (see below)Apertiser (on the house as always) Courgette soup. Delicious taster, maybe could have been a little warmer, but that is a miner point.Kreeft, pompoen met ganzenleverLobster, foie gras with pumpkinStunning first course. The sharpness from the pumpkin against the lobster was great. Two very clean plates went back to the kithen***Gebakken patrijs, witlof, BriocheFried partridge, chicory, BriocheGood second course, nice and light. Partridge just cooked right, still moist and tender, nice contrast the the pepper from the chicory.***Gebakken hertenfilet met een saus van rode wijn, wildgarnituurBaked fillet of venison with a sauce of red wine, wild garnishStunning third course. Fully bodied flavours against the sweetness from the poached pear and garnish***Dessert NapoleonDessert NapoleonofKaasbordje van Eric MurreCheese plate by Eric Murregreat way to finish we both had the dessert Napoleon. Again full of flavour (sharpness and sweet) from the different fruits, against sorbet hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. To go with the meal we took this wine "Bouchard Finlayson" Chardonnay âKaaimansgatâI dont usually go for a dry white, but this hit the spot with me. My wife could not find fault as she is a lover of South African white wines. Almost as good as a "Rijks" To finish we had two coffees. The staff seemed a lit out of sorts this evening. Dont get me wrong, nothing that spoiled the evening. They seemed a little flat compared to previous visits.Total cost was about 170 euro. people may think that is a lot and yes it is. But for us, we have never had an OK meal here.Just try this restaurant once, I dont think you would be disappointed

I don't like the typical chinese taste, but Mulan is a restaurant which I would recommend to everyone. A very friendly service and excelent food. We always go for the surprise menu where they ask if there is something we don't like.

At Fridays the restaurant offers a very special menu atâ¬78 (apero, wine and coffee included)The "amuses bouche" and the dessert is almost the same for several months or even years but the other dishes are alvast very delicious, according to the season. You won't be disappointed when you choose this menu. Value for money.

Went here this week with three colleagues. It was absolutely delicious. Especially the scallop starter I had. Perfectly cooked. The menu was in Dutch but the waitress was able to explain it in perfect English. The service was great and the chef even came around during our mains to check everything was OK. Hope to go again soon.

Whilst staying with friends we were taken to De Oude Haven Mosselrestaurant. This restaurant is situated in the middle of the town called Philippines. Whilst Philippines is a small town it is full of seafood and fish restaurants. Their speciality is mussels. We entered the restaurant, which was packed with customers and greeted by the owner, who showed us to a table. The drinks list and the food menu is extensive. I had prawns for my starter course and mussels for my main. The prawns were delicious as too were the mussels. The mussels when they arrived are astonishing. All four of us had the same, and the mussels came to us in batches for two people. The bowl that they arrived in was absolutely enormous. There were so many to eat. They were delicious. The staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. A perfect restaurant in which to have a delicious meal. Highly recommended. A note: all of our clothes smelt of mussels the next morning.

This place is a classic fish and mussel restaurant. It serves perfect seafood, with shellfish at its best. We loved the oysters and the house speciality mussels (moules) are a real treat! The owner and staff are really friendly and make you feel at home. Worth a visit! And so is the region.

We did the wine-dine-sleep formula with friends. Price for the whole programme, including a 5 course dinner with carefully selected superb wines, followed by spending the night in a large and comfortable hotelroom and a good breakfast for 129 euro per person, which is a bargain, seen the quality of the food and the services. We do this once or twice a year since a couple of years now, and are never dissapointed.

I visited recently with my wife for dinner. There is basically a choice between two menu's - the Jeune Restaurateurs d'Europe (4-9 courses) or the crustacean (3-7 courses).Pro's: The food is very good, our lobster main dish was particularly succulent. The langoustine dish was really nice too. There's a good choice of reasonably priced wines including wines by the glass at 5 or 6 euro.Waitresses were very pleasant.Tables are well spacedCon'sIt took an age between courses. We arrived just before 8pm and after two starters plus a couple of nibbles didn't get our main course until after 10:15, it was around a 45 minutes between the second starter and main course and my wife was getting impatient enough to think about paying and leaving, thankfully the lobster dish arrived and rescued the situation... There seemed to be only two chefs in the kitchen, and maybe if you have more courses they arrive quicker but there were certainly times when I looked around the room and no-one was eating at any of the ten tables. There was no choice of dessert. I'm not keen on apricots and as it was described as apricot based (though there were only two small pieces of apricot in reality) I had to go for cheese. Conclusion: Would we return? Probably, if only for the lobster dish. I would suggest to take at least 4 courses as they are small - we took the crustacean menu as four courses and I ate more bread than I would normally but still didn't leave too full. I would qualify that by saying that they didn't skimp on the amount lobster and of course both that and langoustine are expensive ingredients. You can take dishes as a la carte so maybe you get bigger portions if you do.

We were visiting relatives in Zelzate, Belgium and they asked us if we like to have mussels for lunch. We love mussels so we said yes, and they took us to this little restaurant in the Nederlands. It was delicious, the mussels were awesome! I recommend it to anyone who likes mussels. I'm looking forward to going again soon. The staff is very friendly as well.Website: www.mosselbank,nl

Cosy small restaurant with nice dishes and friendly atmosphere. The original thing is that there is no menu, so don't expect to order a specific dish for you. On the contrary, dinner starts, and in the course of time you are served with dishes that the are the chef's choice over a period of 2-3 hours in total. Each serving round contains a limited number of dishes with small portions of different types of food (appetisers, fish, chicken, salads etc.), but as there are 6-7 rounds in total (including desert), the total quantity of food that is served is more than enough for an average person. Most of the dishes were Spanish-Mediterranean with some local ones included as well. The service is excellent, very friendly and welcoming. In general we had a very nice dinner and we would definitely recommend it.
