Visited Saturday lunchtime around 3 pm after hearing good reports Only one other table in at time Shown to a booth seat in window, drinks order taken immediately We ordered Prawns in chilli and garlic and garlic mushrooms for starters to share.Prawns were over cooked and toughand only 3 in the portion but good tasty sauce Garlic mushrooms, good portion size but thin sauce which you could eat with a spoon like soup with two small pieces of dry breadBoth dishes had large uncooked bits of hard garlic in them Main course was Seafood Paella for myself and Chicken Cacciatore for Mrs C served with chips My Paella was served at table directly in pan Got to admit it was bland and only consisted of rice and garden peas Never had Paella without Red,green, yellow peppers and onions before. The amount of seafood made up for this disappointment though Mrs C chicken Cacciatore was again bland and any sort of black olives were missing The chips were good We had three meal checks which we replied everything was just OKDuring our visit we saw members of staff preparing vegetables in the dining area, kitchen staff eating food in the dining area and not washing hands on returning to kitchen area and we are sure they went to the toilet Toilets were fairly clean but the gents did not have a toilet brush only a long handled kitchen scourer to clean the toilet after use.Would we recommend and return Probably not as there are better places in Sunderland serving better quality food in better surroundings and ambiance

Finest local seafood, available to purchase in our fishmonger / deli. Latimers cafe serves "naked" fish with chips, seafood platters, crab sandwiches, award winning pasties, soups, all day breakfasts, homemade cakes and scones. No nuts are used in any of
Everything looked great in the deli...a great range of fresh seafood. The menu was interesting....but then the meal arrived....a portion of cod the size of a small birds eye fish fillet....that tasted like cod in sauce...chunky oven chips and a tin of mushy peas....all for £13 ....wow! Obviously very popular because we had a long wait ...but can't help thinking we would have been better going to the local chippy.Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I'm very sorry that you were disappointed with your visit. Our customers rave about our 'naked' fish. Cod tails were used, they were fresh and filleted that morning and cooked en-papillote, super fresh and healthy.

Looking forward to some fish and chips with the family after a seaside walk on Fatherâs Day. We always come here. Disappointed today.Fish looked unappetising and small. Over cooked. Nearly all batter which was hard. Chips okay but loads of bits and not as tasty or hot as they used to be. Certainly not worth the money. Donât think weâll be returning.
