This will be our second time dining at the Blue Mermaid, on both occasions the food was excellent and service was great, you won't be disappointed, its a bit pricy but then again they don't throw you out the door either, sit and enjoy your dinner. If its your first time the Owner might offer you the best seat in the house which is in the very back beside the kitchen door and inline with the servers desk, maybe you get your food faster I don't know this for sure but thats what we got on our second visit, great guy smiled at us when we left.

We dined here for some fish and chips, as it came recommended. It was very quiet, but we didn't mind. I had some clam chowder soup which was tasty and we both had fish and chips. I chose halibut and my friend had cod. It was a very generous portion. We both enjoyed each dish. Only negatives were the service could have been more attentive, especially when there was only 1 other table there, and the ambiance needs a refresh, looks tired. But we will try again, the fish was nice.

we were in a hurry and therefore we ordered takeout, and when we got home, the fish (haddock) was OK, but the fries were uninspiring so I don't think that I would order here again. But maybe the fries had sat too long.
