Gorgeous garden at the back so a really lovely place to be. Very friendly staff but food not quite up to promise. Excellent starters but the meat that we had (Tagliata and a steak) was a little lacking in flavour. We nonetheless enjoyed it but it was a little spoiled when we had to wait over 30 mins for the bill, despite asking 3 times!

The restaurant is located in the small village of castro and offers fresh fish and great pasta dishes. We really enjoyed the food there especially the raw fish (salmon tuna) and the sea food pasta. The service was also lovely with waiters speaking good english which helps and the chef coming to talk at the table. Lovely place!

Had amazing shellfish macaroni. Excellent wines, friendly service and large portions. Great place for a chilled out and inexpensive dinner. Closed on Mondays out of season so check in advance. We went twice during our stay.

Excellent food, particularly the antipasti. We had 9 plates of starters including fried broccoli, burrata, 2 types of fish, calamari, stuffed pepper, thinly sliced pork and a zucchini dish. Each one tasted delicious and there was almost no room for another course. One of us then had a pasta dish and the other had prawns. Both very tasty. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Highly recommended. 50 Euros, including water and a small carafe of wine.

The antepaste were delicious. The zuppe di pesce was made with very fresh pesce, but had little flavor [unsalted], and the pesce still had scales, which detracted from the pleasure of the fresh fish. Still, I'd return, especially now that we know how to find it.

Weâve been to this family restaurant when in Spongano, and itâs been a lovely experience. The owners treat you with all italian care, and the food is typically delicious. Ask for the croquette with mint as an antipasto! Oh, they have a lovely backyard for the evening dinner.

By far our favorite fish and seafood restaurant. Great menu, warm atmosphere, gentle staff, moderate prices. A must, all the year round.

A small sea-food restaurant with a selection of wines from Apulia.
Just beautifully presented food in an attractive cortile. The menu has changed a little since last year and really suits us. Very difficult to look elsewhere when it is this good! Attractive aperitif style Spritz were served to start. Which was a good idea and just the right size.

Unexpected tour in the hill of Italy, found randomly in internet, offers s different kind of visit, personalized inside family business. They took the opportunity of mixed B&B, cousine based on owner skills and local products (including oil from its own production), daily nearby cites and places visits with transportation provided. I went to Otranto, Gallipoli, Lecce, Ostuni, Alberobello, Santa Maria De Leuca and a visit to pasta factory, chocolate store, wine testing, etc⦠Have interaction with Emilio and Clara (Husband and Wife), Emilios father, Pongo the dog⦠awesome week. As said a different plan (calmed) but very intense to know all Salento main spots. Also got help from Carlo an experienced guide for some visits⦠Ah, they manage Italian, Spanish and English. I got provided with mountainbikeâ¦

Typical italian restaurant - south italy (Salento)
The restaurant in a small town of Spongano has outside seating in the piazza in summer, where you can see the locals gather at night and the locals can watch the tourists. The menu is both in English and Italian, and the food was average for the price we paid. Pros - quick service and English menu with local food. Cons - plastic chairs with paper tablecloth, peppers and salt in paper bags, we did not always get the dish we ordered. If you like a fine dining experience, this place is not for you.Hi and thanks for your review. We are a trattoria not a fine dining. Here you Can have an homemade and handcraft experience and making you feel at home without any kind of bling bling. We use paper table cloth and plastic chairs because we have to set the Place up before the service and breaking it down at the end. We are really Sorry if we did not live up your expectations. Thanks for your advice indeed. We Will try to improve
