Reviews on Seafood food in Soweto, Johannesburg, Gauteng. An acronym for South Western Townships, Soweto was dubbed as such in 1963. The area began in the late 19th century as a temporary neighborhood for gold mine workers, then later became a black Johannesburg ghetto with forced apartheid settlement. In 1976, Soweto garnered international headlines with its deadly uprising against Afrikaans-only language education. The Mandela Family Museum and the recently restored Credo Mutwa Village (with its Zulu and Sotho homesteads) are two can't-miss sights.

We had the most wonderful experience at this restaurant in the large shopping complex! Our server( and I am very sorry I don't remember his exact name..Linius?.. definitely began with " L") was SOO attentive and made some great suggestions including wine. The food was impeccable..we tried a large assortment and all was AMAZING!!! We enjoyed our meal so much we went back for dinner the following night..not only because of food but server. Prices were reasonable and a nice ambiance . Also, the manager was very kind and greeted us and had a pleasant discussion both times. If you are looking for a dinner with fantastic food reasonably priced, attentive and knowledgeable staff, Fishmonger is the place! You will not be disappointed!
By FAR the best Sea food and fish Deli in Gauteng, in the quant Florida area. Hidden away with simple seating and no nonsense frills and decor, the Cuisine is excellent! Paul Afonso started My Fish a few years ago as a Deli Fish Wholesaler, and had a few tables if customers wanted a cup of coffee, and a honest Portuguese plate of food, with that Portuguese/Mozambique'n taste. BOOM, rest is history. Simple to the point menu. Paul makes his own pickled veggies, and Peri Peri on table sauce. Can get very very busy, and the Shopping Centre has limited parking. But a must try if you visit the Florida area.

Run by the Da Cunha Family.
Fun ambiance and service superb. That doesnât make up for fact fish was rubbery and not properly cooked. Seasoning was uneventful. Hoped for more peri peri taste although they had sauce in table. Not the same as grilled with sauce. Liver starter excellent. Also excellent security getting in and out from street. Sketchy neighborhood way off the grid. Take taxi not safe.

The food is excellent. Try them you wont go wrong. You also don't wait to long for your food. I asked them to also sell the chicken that's being sold at another outlet. If they can bring that chicken there, more people will buy there.there food is value for money

My wife and teenage children visited this venue on Christmas Eve after finding a lot of places closed. The service was good and the food was excellent in general. The only exception was the Portuguese Pilchards which were a bit dry.The venue is very comfortable and airy and we enjoyed our experience.
