Restaurante Azenhas do Mar combines a beautiful setting with the best of what Portugal cuisine has to offer. Enjoy delicious fresh fish and seafood dishes while overlooking the ocean. An unforgettable dining experience awaits you at Restaurante Azenhas do
We had to call three times to get our reservation. First two calls were simply hanged up: first because we spoke English, second because we wanted table only for two. Finally, on third attempt, we got our reservation confirmed. What a surprise, when we arrived to the venue and they had neither our reservation nor a free table. During the discussion with the manager, she complained we might have called wrong number. When showing her the number, she said she does not know their phone number, and only when compared with their business card, she agreed, was a right number. In the meantime, we have been passed by two groups, one of six and other of eight people. These were accomodated immediately. Finally, we had no other choice to leave the venue - maybe they are not interested in couples, only larger groups.

Situated in the center of the quiet village of Praia das Macas, installed a characteristic old house, the Conch offers a space welcoming to a nice meal, having a capacity of 130 people divided into two spaces, an enclosed terrace and an indoor room. . The
Portuguese colleagues recommended several restaurants in Lisbon and this place as we were staying in Sintra. The other places they recommended in Lisbon were amazing, this was just ok. They have a pool full of crabs and prawns and lobsters and you can go and look at them and choose. My wife is Spanish so she had the Spanish menu, I had the English menu. They seemed to have different things or they didnât quite coincide. But several dishes appeared more expensive i.e the cod is â¬16.50 in Spanish, â¬17 in English. I didnât see the Portuguese menu. We ordered the prawns from Espinho which were in the tank (photo below) but they were quite tasteless. Really bland. Apart from them being tasteless at â¬95 a kilo we were charged â¬110 a kilo when the bill came in. I queried this and they apologised and corrected it. But surely this is an item in the cash register/computer and shouldnât be â¬110 when it is â¬95. Do Portuguese people experience this? The cod was massive but swimming in olive oil. All in all it was an ok meal. Not worth the drive from Sintra and I didnât like being over charged just because I looked/spoke English.

Excellent! Very friendly staff more than happy to talk through the ingredients and to offer suggestions. My daughter, who usually finds it difficulty to finish a meal, finished hers without problems while my wife had an excellent veggie dish.My own dish, salmon grilled with vegetables, was, as they say, to die for.Personally 5 starts does not do D Pipas credit!

Great place for great food, the staff are very friendly and efficient too. The food is wholesome and at s good price. I tried the monkfish stew which was sublime. Unfortunately didnât have any room left for dessert as the bread came with cheese and olives.Rate this place highly

I visited this restaurant with my wife for lunch on 6th August on the recommendation of others on TripAdvisor. My wife still talks about the tuna and I would go so far to say that the sardines I had were probably the finest I have ever tasted. After a fabulous bottle of white vino collapso I felt ready to return to Lisbon to meet my parents. The service was so friendly, helpful and attentive and Maria even went out of her way to allow us to use her Uber account so that we could reduce the cost of the taxi back to the railway station in Sintra, a really kind gesture that my wife and I will never forget. I cannot wait to visit Lisbon again so that I can return to this restaurant which I can recommend to anyone and without hesitation.Thank you so much for the kind words!! =)

Good restaurant, good food at a good price in a family environment.
Was recommended Metamorphosis by our guest house, which was just up the road. Arrived fairly late, restaurant was very busy, warmly welcomed and shown a table by the manager. Service was excellent throughout. Manager spoke very good English and so did some of the waiters. I had the pork and clams, my wife veal scallops with a mushroom sauce, both very good and generous portions. Prices very good, both food and wine. Our best value dinner in three weeks of travels in Portugal

O restaurante "Bacalhau na Vila" tem um conceito de petiscos, onde a ideia é partilhar vários pratos feito com o ingrediente principal, o bacalhau. No reservations.
Absolutely Wonderful. We went for lunch after visiting Palace before Quinta da Regaleira (FUN). Bit difficult to find on phone navigation since itâs up a hill - kept telling us weâd arrived but kept walking in circles. Sweet little place with an excellent staff. While waiting a short time for a table got to see all the dishes coming out of the kitchen & knew what we wanted to order before looking at the menu. The two of us shared the spinach cream, cod soup & double mix plate (cod, octopus & shrimp over spinach & sweet potatoes) so fantastic. 40 ⬠I think. Would go again in a second. Thanks denheinz for your comment and rating :)We are always very happy with the good comments we have received, as we feel rewarded for our work and this gives us motivation to improve so that our Customers can come back to visit us and be surprised.See you soon.Best regards.
