I stayed one night at this beautiful place. Room was beautiful, with a view of the sea. There was an overpowering smell in the bathroom, which prompted me to skip a shower. Thank God the smell was gone the next day, it was worse than a tannery! Matress was quite hard. I think it was old as opposed to firm. Towels were ancient and very thin.I didn't say anything because I was staying only for the one night, otherwise I would have complained. Pity, because the place is beautiful.Had dinner at the restaurant, food was good and as was service.

We were on the road from Essaouira to Oualidia on the Moroccan coast and passing through Safi when we decided it was time to eat. We passed through the phosphate factories....nothing good...passed through the city centre....nothing good......just after we passed the port itself.....bam up popped a small collection of fish restaurants on the left. Our guide said all looked fine so we parked. Please avoid the guy who is trying to get you into his place (he was persistent) and go to the 1st one on the right. We could tell it was going to be good because it was full of ......(this is not meant to be sexist)...women! The staff were inviting and friendly and the place was clean and packed full. Once seated we ordered a triple platter of random fish and calamari. Wow....so fresh and a perfect lunch choice. Hope you get there sometime!

Specialises in fresh fish from the port of Safi.
We have visited Safi (known as Asfi locally) a dozen times in over an eight year period and somehow missed the best place to grab a fine meal. Our Safi business connections took us to Moukhlis Fish for lunch... What a delightful surprise and I know why this "local secret" has been kept just so. We had a feast of freshly caught seafood within sound of the Atlantic waves. Safi is generally not on the tourist trail but if you find yourself there go to Moukhlis Fish. Ask a taxi driver to take you there. Try the "friture special" absolute value at 45 Dirhams ($5) Lots of choice, depending on the luck of the fishing but Moukhlis get the first pick of boats coming in so be assured it will be the best of the day. Will certainly be back again next year and for more than one meal.
