We really loved this place. The food was outstanding, especially the paella. We had two lunches and a dinner here. The last night they gave us complimentary caipirinhas (local delicious drink made from sugar cane brandy). Service was amazing. They even saved our favorite table. It's a great place for people watching.

Hey guys, if you open a restaurant you should know how to cook. If cooking means that you only fry things...that's strange. It's not so hard to prepare decent food. Only fried calamari were ok. Sorry - big dislike!! Folks, don't go.

We were specifically looking for a seafood restaurant to try out any fresh catch of the day in town. We read through the TA reviews of the more fancy and expensive restaurants but often they came with mixed reviews. We passed by Al Pairo earlier and thought to give it a try. Not disappointed at all! We had brotola a la plancha (panfried) and a la vasca (tomato and garlic sauce) and both came out nicely done. Simple yet tasty. With a glass of wine and a soda, total $26 with tips. Very reasonable price and very glad we stopped by. Service was prompt too. Credit card accepted.

especialidad en mariscos y pescados frente al mar con musica en vivo y buenos tragos En el corazon del pueblo
The restaurant is at a point with many huge rocks so the view and sounds of waves coming in are super relaxing. We got the veggie tacos (we are vegan, and they were great) and some caipirinhas. Live music occasionally also. Important: they only take cash or Visa debit.

Franca Restaurante is located in the best point of Punta del Diablo, Uruguay. With the best view, you will be able to enjoy the best international cuisine and bar. We will be expecting you this season to share and taste our menu. Franca Team.
First night went to Il Tano, second to Franca. Both worth going to. Excellent ceviche to start. Had the corvina as a main - very good. Staff advised us that the other fish not that good that day. Seafood risotto excellent. Very helpful staff who have good English.

We arrived at Il Tano full of expectations and we left pretty happy for the experience. The dishes are fresh, with nice combinations of flavours and they're well presented. The shrimp appetizer, the black cod and the seafood pasta were our favorites. 4 stars just cause they didn't have the wine we wanted (the owner suggested us a couple of good alternatives), and for the bill..

Bona Ona has its roots in Spanish cuisine and the best seafood that Rocha has to offer. Specialty in paellas, fish, seafood and Spanish tapas. Rustic decoration and relaxed atmosphere in the picturesque fishing village of Punta del Diablo.
Looking for fresh seafood, but cooked perfectly (not too much batter, right amount of seasoning), reasonable prices, friendly and efficient service, lovely atmosphere, cheesecake to die for (homemade strawberry jelly that isn't sugary but complemented the creamy cheese and buttery base)... ? We had the calamari which was superb, and the paella.. loved it! Highly recommended!Thank you so much for the review! It was lovely to meet you. Have a really nice trip!

Since Dec 2010 Arrai Beach Bar is definitely a meeting point in Punta del Diablo. Its panoramic terrace offers the best view towards the hill of the Fishermen, the rocky point and the hill of the Rivero simultaneously. A simple menu with original dishes,
I stumbled upon Arrai without having seen the reviews on Tripadvisor. There are not that many bars literally on the beach but this one has a perfect location. The wine is excellent (can't say that of all the places I visited there), the food is yummy (really enjoyed the eggplant dish) but the family that runs it, two brothers, Nacho and Pedro and their sister Pepi make it that you want to return. And Nacho is actually a professional musician and orchestra leader, I really appreciated his input in music there.Go there and stay there!
