Formerly known as the Sansom Street Oyster House. Re-opened recently as The Oyster House. Would like to write a review.
It was an OMG experience. Both nights we ordered Dogfish Head IPA, oyster shooters, ginger beer, fried calamari, salad (1st night), fried shishito peppers (2nd night), and the piece de resistance, grilled whole Branzino fish which was accompanied with risotto and a green curry sauce. On the second evening, we asked if the chef could make the green curry sauce spicier and he did! This was one of the most incredible, memorable meals we've had. Both nights, the bill totaled slightly less than $100.. terrific value. We liked this restaurant much more than the nearby seafood restaurant. Highly recommended.

Three of us recently had dinner here on a Saturday night. Reservations were made online and we were eagerly anticipating this meal, being Morimoto fans and having read so many positive reviews of this restaurant. It did not disappoint! We were promptly seated at our reservation time by a friendly hostess and appreciated the interesting decor with the ever changing colors and sense of waves with the architecture. As appetizers we chose the wagyu dumplings and whitefish carpaccio, both were amazing. Two of us had the duck entree and the other had the black cod. Again these were two of the better preparations of these items that we've ever had. Desserts were all on the money with the tea cake being a standout. We also had a few cocktails and those maintained the overall high quality.Service was exceptional throughout the meal.Go here, spend some money and have a fantastic memorable dinner! One tip, keep your eyes open as it's kind of hard to notice the restaurant from the street.

I was staying at the Doubletree across Broad Street and looking for a place to have dinner, saw this on Google Maps and went in without a reservation. They found me a table off in a corner--it must have been around 6 PM. Operating on the theory that nobody does lamb better than the Greeks, I ordered the Arni Paidakia. Blew me away. It's ridiculous to rate a restaurant on one visit, but I have no idea when I'll be in Philly again, and these lamb chops have to be given proper tribute. The young fellow who took and brought my order was also above reproach.Even at this hour it was pretty full and rather loud, but I don't think it would have interfered with conversation, had I not been alone.I don't know when, but I'll be back.

this is an upscale restaurant, but...the seafood menu seemed a bit limited to me, altho I enjoyed the ahi tuna, cooked as ordered. an overwhelming and expensive wine list seems to be the focus. We were seated in a room off the main dining room, which made for a quiet dinner (until the table of five or six folks next to us started chatting and laughing, but no matter...) for the most part. I'm not sure I would return. Service was attentive. But I felt like I was part of an assembly line process and not a customer in an upscale restaurant focused on serving exceptional seafood dishes.

Stopped here before a wedding for a quick bite to eat and a cocktail. The clam chowder was perfect and so was the Bloody Mary! We ate in the bar and the service was excellent considering it was mid-day. Will definitely return when back in the city.
