Kindred Fare is a Finger Lakes dining experience inspired by farmhouse cooking and spirited gatherings with family and friends. We are in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine Region and right down the street from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. We have a
We made a reservation for a birthday with Opentable, and confirmed the reservation the morning of our visit. We arrived 12 minutes late and were told that they had given our table to someone else because they thought we weren't coming. Not exactly the welcome we were expecting for a birthday, and this makes me wonder why I bothered giving them my phone number. When we eventually got seated, service was very slow. One of the specials was already 86 at 6:30 pm. As for the food, it was very uneven. The homemade charcuterie and bread were below average and I would recommend against serving things you obviously don't master very well (and charging your customers for them). The rabbit shepherd's pie special was pretty good, the poutine wasn't really a poutine (fries and liquid peppery gravy with a giant lump of cheese at the bottom). The chocolate cookie with fudge arrived in a little cast iron pan but completely cold and I'm still not sure this was really a cookie.

The Cobblestone Restaurant in Geneva, New York provides casual, intimate fine dining.
Very clean and nicely decorated. Service was friendly but just a little odd overall experience. They didnât seem to have a handle on who was assigned our table as we kept getting asked the same questions by various staff. Had calamari for an app. And it was just ok. A little over cooked and the batter was plain. Just some basic pepper jelly on the side for dipping. I ordered the Delmonico special and my husband ordered the pasta pomadora. Our order was brought out by another staff member and we started eating. Our original server came by and asked if we received the right food and kind of looked at our plates. Odd question we thought. Then the other server came by and asked the same thing , not how was it but did you get the right order ? clearly there was a issue. Steak was ok , but not a delmonico I thought but hadnât paid too much attention as it was covered in a strange tasting âbrown gravyâon it that literally tasted like jar gravy. Now the server came back when we were almost done eating and apologized for us getting the wrong food and said she wouldnât charge us for the Delmonico steak but for what I received? All very odd. Then I overheard a server tell the next table they received the wrong steak. Oh my. Anyway , they were over apologetic and then offered a free dessert as well. We never complained or even acknowledged an issue , but they continued to make a big deal. We Had the chocolate, peanut butter cake which was very good. Overall , not sure weâd return, though they tried hard.

Ate at Ports Cafe on Rte 14 South. Very pleasing atmosphere, outstanding service and very good food well prepared. Gets very crowded after 5:30 pm but it accepts reservations. Had flank steak with scallops, fried veggies and mash potatoes. Everything was exquisite. Two people with drinks $120.
