This is, I think, the best restaurant meal I have ever had, bar none. And I am totally surprised that I had this experience in this rural mountain valley in southern Italy. Visiting here with my husband in his family's former area of origin, we had heard of Fuori dal Comune but not had a chance to try.I can't give this enough praise for creativity, preparation, presentation, taste, freshness, design, and completely professional but totally welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant specializes in fish, so the menu of the evening was fish, all kinds, served in three courses in 'little bites'. Plenty of food, paced and portioned exactly right. I've dined in Gordon Ramsay's very good Maze restaurant in New York ,and this experience at Fuori dal Comune tops theRamsay restaurant for me.

This is definitely one of the best pizza I had . Crisp and crunchy edge and the dough including the topping was not more than 3 mm thick . They used a wood oven and the taste was divine. All 6 of us agreed that pizza was top quality . We all shared slices between us and we could not agree which was the winner despite different toppings from mushrooms only to seafood ,chicken or salami. Can't wait to go again sometime in the future :-)

I had dinner for 20 days in the "Il Certosino" and I had to leave a review. It is not a restaurant where to impress someone. But if you want local food and family administrated local this is the right place. All the pasta with cream is very good. The carbonara is very good but tortellini with mushrooms are the best first course. The meat is always fresh and sausages are great.Broccoletti are very good. The prices?10-15 euro per person. If you are visiting Certosa of Padula it is found on the left at 200 metres from the exit.

Locale molto accogliente, pulito e ben curato. Suggerito.

Close to one of the biggest Certosa (monastery) in Europe, we found this restaurant and were welcomed by friendly and efficient staff. We had a delightful meal with local products, well-finished dishes and truly abundant portions: Parmigiana di Melanzane, Antipasto della Certosa, homemade Ravioli, Fusilli con Salsiccia e Provola, Spaghetti alle Vongole, and, to end it on a sweet note, fresh strawberries topped with lemon ice cream.

Piccolo ristorantino siituato su una collinetta da cui si puo ammirare in tutta la sua estensione La Certosa di San Lorenzo.
The restaurant is at the edge of old town of Padula, overlooking the plain and the imposing Chartreuse below. We tried it for a quick lunch after a visit to the Chartreuse. Home cooking, very tasty: we ordered spaghetti with beef sauce, provolone cheese grilled, water and little bulk wine. The invoice was surprisingly low (just over 13 euro per person), but this can often happen when you are traveling in the Southern Italy away from the sea and the most popular tourist destinations. Certainly to be recommended
