Roy's is a high-end chain serving notable chef Roy Yamaguchi's Hawaiian fusion fare in a contemporary setting. Located on the ocean side of the Hawaii Kai Town Center, about 25 minutes from Waikiki, is this Original Roy's establishment. The food and service were both outstanding. Seating downstairs, with in or outdoors, is primarily for the non-reservation folks. Upstairs indoor dining is for the reservation customers. Choose the upstairs option for the best views. We had tBrie Melt for a starter followed by the Shellfish Combination and the Mac Nut Opa which was a little pricey but outstanding. The dining experience lasted about two hours. Parking is next door and is free. Both upstairs and downstairs options include a sit down bar. A Hawaiian Flat Guitar musician was playing soft dinner music downstairs (Wednesday through Saturday). There are several other locations in the Islands but this is the Original. Our server, Jason, was friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. All in all Roy's is a special occasion setting.

In a very casual, rustic order-at-counter restaurant setting with limited seating, the Shack provided outstanding food from coconut shrimp to steak to kalbi shortribs. The entire family of 12, including adults and teenagers, all enjoyed the food. Super ambiance although very casual. Must visit!

First time trying Tommy Bahama restaurant so my review is limited to the food my wife and I had, macadamia crusted fish and crab bisque and grilled asparagus which was delicious. Price wise it is probably mid-range so good value for money. Will probably try it again when we next visit Waikiki. Some nice shirts too on the way out.

We grabbed lunch here before entering the Polynesian Cultural Center. The food and portions were great for the price. I ordered a beef teriyaki plate, which was served with white rice and macaroni salad. The beef teriyaki was bursting with flavor, and very tender. The rice and macaroni salad were very good as well. My niece ordered the Korean chicken, which was nicely breaded white meat chicken with a tangy, slightly spicy flavor. This is a good option for a quick meal at the Polynesian Cultural Center.Thank you for sharing your experience with us and come back soon! Mahalo!

This place was recommended to me so I thought I’d give it a go. I have the boco rota pizza. It tasted so good, garlicky cheesy goodness. It was so good that I thought I’d try the late night menu out as it’s one of the cheapest prices I’ve seen in Honolulu (see picture). The tuna nachos were incredible and the noodle soup was good as well. Huge portion sizes, this place knows good food. An absolute must try, I honestly believe this is the best value restaurant in Honolulu for the quality of the food you are getting. And you’re paying average prices too (way below average on he late night menu).

Although located away from the Waikiki area, Fresh Catch is a great place to grab some good local food. On the menu are several Ahi dishes: fried Ahi, seared Ahi, Ahi Poke, an Ahi Roll, Ahi belly, Ahi Sandwich, Crab Stuffed Ahi, Ahi Katsu.... there is also Beef Stew, Oxtail Soup, Furikake Salmon, Fish and Chips, Poke Bowls, Hawaiian Plate, Sauteed Garlic Shrimp. LauLau Plate, Teri Chicken & Tomato Basil Ono.We have tried the Ahi Poke Bowl and the Oxtail Soup... both are very good.

Seven Brothers

This place was crazy bad on service.First... this place wasn’t busy, yet it took 30 minutes to get food ordered. Second... the server at the window kept on disappearing. Although we didn’t say anything, others in the queue were very vocal in their disapproval.Third... they took the order wrong. We ordered a Spencer with fries, drink, salad and veggie with fries and salad. This is what we repeated back to the server. What arrived was a Shem burger _without_ fries. Wrong burger. The restaurants error and they REFUSED TO PUT IT RIGHT. ‘I am not the manager’ is not an excuse - find the manager. ‘You can stand in line and order your fries’ is also not acceptable when the queue is 30 minutes long. The correct way is you bring out the missing order. It’s a shame we can’t take the tip back, because we certainly didn’t get the service or food we requested.Bottom line ... we would not go back. Just not worth it.

This place is fabulous! The choices are varied and everything we have eaten here is absolutely delicious. It is a small, casual space with a few tables and counter seating around the perimeter but it is definitely not 'fast food'......the chef prepares each dish with great care and even it takes a little longer to eat here.....it is worth every moment of the wait. From the fried okra to the biscuits and gravy....the jambalaya...the po boys.....each dish is treat. Can't wait to go back each time we leave!

First time trying Poke and I was a little uneasy since I have a shellfish allergy. Luckily there's no major fallout when I do have shellfish by mistake. Of course I stayed away from the shellfish options and instead opted for the salmon and fresh ahi. It was great. The food was still good after 2 days. The atmosphere is really nice but I took my food to go. I didn't understand what one of the sauces were so I asked an employee, but I don't think they understood what I was saying in English so I got what I thought would taste best. Honolulu has a large Japanese / Asian population. It was very easy to order (if you know what you want). Located in the prime of real estate in Wakiki. Very vibrant area.
