It is a part of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, and lies about 10 km southwest of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It has about 31,300 inhabitants, half of which live in the newly built district of Getsewoud. The built-up area of the town was 3.71 km, and contained 7,513 residences. The wider statistical area of Nieuw-Vennep has a population of around 40,000. In 2001, Nieuw-Vennep had 17,886 inhabitants, which later doubled due to the development of Getsewoud.

The patio as well as the restaurant's interior looks purely functional but neat.The lunch menu kicked off with an original salad of prawn and radish; very well-balanced with good flavour. The second course of precisely cooked cod covered with sobrasada was equally enjoyable. The main course of sirloin was pleasant, to be finished with a fine dessert of yoghurt ice and rhubarb.Service was good (lady) to mediocre (tall gentleman). The bill for two including aperitif, mineral water, and pairing wine for the second course came to 120 EUR.An experience that I like to repeat anytime soon.

The restaurant is very stylishly decorated and has a nice view of the lake. Staff are very friendly and attentive and we were surprised about the quality of the food. Apart from the menu they have a set menu with the choice of 2 dishes, but they also allowed us to shuffle a bit with some dishes from the regular menu. The starters choice of the chef is highly recommended. I was very happy to have discovered this restaurant in my local area!

We ate here one night and my husband had fish, and I had the Moussaka. The fish was fresh and delicious but my Moussaka was just average. Service was not that great. Maybe it was just a bad night.

If you want to go somewhere, knowing you can just have a carefree evening with excellent food and awesome staff, this is your place. The staff is really well trained and you can ask them anything while given an detailed answer and amazing hospitality. I have no words but perfection for the food. Everything is made with so much love, and thats exactly the taste of every dish. Next time, because there definitely will be a next time (and next, next and next time) we will try the tasting menu, as itâs multiple courses. The food is so awesome so why not (almost) have it all? Till next time lovely people. I had an amazing evening and you contributed to that big time!!Well thank you very much! This made us blush ;) Were very happy you enjoyed your evening so much! This Michelin-recommended restaurant along the Ringvaart Canal is in a typical Dutch private house style with low ceilings and a rather uncomplicated décor. The cuisine is French/Dutch with occasional, slightly, Oriental influences.The amuse-bouche including a sip of creamy soup and shrimp cocktail did pleasantly arouse my appetite. The starter with various preparations of mackerel was well above ordinary and fresh. The entremets of quail piccata with green asparagus was equally enjoyable without being stunning. The main dish of salmon and cannelloni filled with spinach was the highlight of the day; simply delicious. The wine (William Fevre Chablis 2012) paired very well with the dishes, enhancing the positive impact. For dessert, the ice cream with raspberries was decorated with white chocolate. Along with a decent cup of espresso it was a worthy closing of this meal.The service was good and less formal than expected. The bill for two persons came to 120 Euro. Perfect? No. But the Oude Dykhuys is a genuinely high quality restaurant that I want to visit more often, disregarding my financial constraints.

The lunch we had was fantastic. My wife, a vegetarian was specially impressed with her salad. I has the flower based tuna dish which was sooo tasty and our guest had the seafood special which had tastes of various fishes. The service was impecable and nice to see proper cutlery and linen. Cannot fault the restaurant.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and walked about 1km to get here and were very happy that we did. My wife had catch of the day and I had a ribeye, both of them were very good. The restaurant is a cross between a farm style and modern looking restaurant, the decor was very nice. If we're ever travelling thru the area again, we're definitely going to stop in and enjoy another meal here.

It presents a typical All-You-Can-Eat for Euro 25 'Japanese' restaurant. A big improvement on previous years is that the premises have been moved from the first floor of the building, which could only be reached by a steep staircase, to more spacious accommodation on the ground floor. A big negative for me is that they charge Euro1 for a glass of tap water - the argument being that 'if everyone had tap water we couldn't make a profit'. This was despite the fact that during the course of the meal our table of four had already had 6 glasses of wine and one bottle of mineral water.

Visited Jacques because it was close to the Hotel where we stayed and the reviews were good. We were not disappointed. One of the best meals during our travels through Europe. Food prepared with great care and attention. The soup and pork medallions were scrumptious. The staff member who served us was attentive and was knowledgeable about the menu. If this restaurant was in my neighbourhood I would be a regular visitor!
