My wife and I visited Nipa Hut in Newport for an evening meal with our friends. We were treated to a great welcome by the staff and chef who is the owner. The food is superb quality, a real taste of the phillipines at a really affordable price. It was great to try so many different types of phillipino food and I have to say that everything we tried was excellent. We will definitely return to try the rest of the menu !!Definitely worth a visit.

As you know we are very lucky to have the award winning chef - Steve White, as our new Head Chef and leading his staff in the kitchen at The Red Lion, Steve has come up with an outstanding menu focusing on locally sourced produce, combining flavours and t
The staff were fantastic! Friendly, attentive, alert but subtle. It became obvious that something (we donât know what) was causing the kitchen to fall behind. Step up our waiter who gently apologised and offered bread and olives! The perfect approach.However...we only ordered mains and waited an hour and 20 minutes for it to arrive!! If weâd not been with great company weâd have walked. When it came the food was underwhelming. I had ham (hock) egg and chips. The ham was enormous, fatty and a bit unpleasant. I donât get the idea. Other meals didnât inspire. If not for the excellent waiter we would have been complaining. As it was we were just left disappointed.

I've wanted to go here for years but never got round to it. Definitely worth the wait. You go up to the counter where the uncooked meat, fish etc is on display to make your choice. There are also various blackboard menus including a 2 course lunch menu for £13.99 which we all went for. I had the smoked mackerel with beetroot which was great. The others had tomato and red pepper soup, also good. We had garlic bread which was so yummy. Warm crusty bread with garlic butter dip. All main courses were good especially the leg of lamb and the chips were superb! The sticky toffee pudding was huge, too big really but tasty and my creme Catalan was excellent. The staff were very good and helpful. The setting is wonderful. I want to go back!

Natee Thong is now changing the name into Pinto Thai Cuisine. Our new restaurant will start again on 29th November. We still have the same amezine chefs with new great service.
Had another meal for two at this great restaurant. The starters to share was beautiful with numerous different items on there, all very well presented. The two curries we had were very different but both really good. The prawn crackers they serve are probably the best we have ever eaten. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and the service was good. The bill arrived. Not itemised. Just your table number and a cost. We found this very strange. Is a service charge included? We had no idea as it was not itemised. Never come across this before!
