Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Mossel Bay. Mossel Bay is a harbour town of about 130,000 people on the Southern Cape (or Garden Route) of South Africa. It is an important tourism and farming region of the Western Cape Province. Mossel Bay lies 400 kilometres east of the country's seat of parliament, Cape Town (which is also the capital city of the Western Cape Province), and 400 km west of Port Elizabeth, the largest city in the Eastern Cape Province. The older parts of the town occupy the north-facing side of the Cape St Blaize Peninsula, whilst the newer suburbs straddle the Peninsula and have spread eastwards along the sandy shore of the Bay.

The Fork & Train restaurant is situated at the Santos Express Train lodge. Overlooking the picturesque Outeniqua Mountains and the blue flag Santos Beach. We offer a wide variety of good value meals.

The hippest spot in Mossel Bay. Whether you are a local or just passing through, thereâs no hotter spot to be in Mossel Bay than at The Legendary Blue Oyster Bar. Itâs the perfect spot to lounge in the sun on a hot summerâs day. The deck has a view over S
The views are really beautiful. This bar is at the back of the Gannet restaurant and Protea Hotel. We sat at one of the outdoor tables. A menu was brought to the table but nobody came to take our order. We ended up moving to the Gannet. Dear reginafugThank you so much for your visit. We apologize for the service confusion. The bar is a much more casual and relaxed setting than the restaurant. As part of this, orders for food and drinks get placed with the staff at the bar counter.Although this is printed on the menu I will address this with the team, so that they also explain this to guests when delivering the menus. The bar certainly does have an extraordinary view and I hope that you will come back and enjoy it once more. Hopefully on a hot summers day with an ice cold G&T.Best regards, Janine

We enjoyed a sundowner and received brilliant service from Tane, the manager on duty. She answered all of our questions confidently and informatively. Although not new to visiting Mossel Bay, we wanted information regarding the train running to Great Brak and she was more than willing to help and went out of her way to get us more information. The sushi was also really tasty!

The Sea Gypsy Cafe is one of the most unique places that you will ever visit. We are situated on the water our oysters are hanging from a pole alive in the sea. We offer a warm friendly and welcoming experience. Great food good value. We offer not only se
We popped in for a meal and a beer. The location of the restaurant right on the sea and the views of the harbour & Mossel Bay - especially at sunset, are a treat. The Ocean Basket we shared was excellent, and the fish beautifully prepared and cooked, with great chips and cold beer. The graffiti on every table and piece of wood is really over the top though, and gives an otherwise quirky and lekker restaurant, a shabby and low-class feel. We felt it was time for a repaint and sprucing up!

De Vette Mossel (The Fat Mussel) offers much more than perfectly prepared seafood â this is an experience â in unusual and informal surroundings with traditional Cape fishing culture â in true West Coast Style.
We expected a lot of this so cosy situated place. indeed the owner is very friendly and the location on the beach marvellous. Also the idea , a great menu with several dishes for a very pleasant price is good. helas, the quality of the food was not good. yes the snoek was very fresh and not bad grilled but the mussels were very dry. such a shame for these lovely things. the stew also was not great and the fish stew also without good taste. Not a place to return. the waiters were very friendly and the wines good but that is not the merit of the chefs. Please learn to prepare mussels and stews! The location earns a better chef. Thanks for your review. We take every review seriously ad a means to improve. We believe in good, healthy and honest food, without too many spices and sauces - guests can add the spices and sauces themselves. We also believe that the most important factor in preparing seafood, is not to overcook it, thus drying it out. However, preparing seafood for a lot of people, it is possible that some of the mussels (I take it you refer to the mussels in the shell as the mussel meat is prepared with lots of butter.) could be dry. We will work on it. Regards. Niel du Bois.

The service was excellent, the view could not be better and the food was great. Some items on the menu is a bit expensive, but then those who had it, said it was worth it. Hake, chips and salad less than R100 and I could not finish it. Huge portions. Value for money. Thank you for taking the time to review us 197elmariej, we are happy to learn that you enjoyed your visit. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace at the seaside, however the food is awful. We ordered a focaccia that had been frozen before, completely tasteless, cold, hard eating, and horrible appearance. The mussels, nothing special. In addition, they offer in the menu a lot of draft beers, but finally they gave me a bottle because they had just run out of it. There was a bubble gum in a sugar bag in our table. Nobody realised about it but us. My recommendation, look for something else around. There must be much better places. Thank you for taking the time to review us BoardingGateToEurope, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit to Delfino's. Excellent food, excellent service and excellent ambiance. We walked in and were wowed by the set-up, we stayed because of the friendly service (Gerhard is amazing) and we will come back again because of the food. WOWZA! Beautiful fresh seafood, a menu that suits everyone and perfectly seasoned dishes. What a perfectly hidden gem of Mossel Bay.

The Café Gannet Restaurant is Mossel Bay's seafood House. Acclaimed for local seafood specialties, ingeniously prepared. Coastal oysters, black mussels and Mossel Bay Sole are delivered daily from the harbour to make a delectable and varied a la carte men
We liked this restaurant so much we went two nights in a row. They have very good food choices from freshly made sushi to ostrich. My family really loved the Asian chicken dish! Their homemade soups are outstanding. When they have a bus or two in the restaurant service can slow down a bit but they do very well overall. Their amazing servers try and be attentive to your needs.
