Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Montezuma. North of Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Preserve and south of Tambor Bay, along a forested sandy bay, Montezuma has numerous beaches, waterfalls, good fishing, seafood, surfing, snorkeling, horseback riding, hiking, and bicycling. Playa Las Manchas is popular for snorkeling, though you need to be mindful of riptides as you gaze at the parrotfish, rays, puffers, and needlefish. The kids will like exploring the colorful rocks and tide pools at Playa Rocas. Beachfront cantinas, bars, and restaurants are plentiful in Montezuma. Playa de los Artistas on the Montezuma beachfront serves sushi, pizza, and vegetarian dishes by lantern light at driftwood tables on smooth sand floors beneath bamboo lattice ceilings. Playa Montezuma hosts the fishing fleet. Hike half an hour to the endless sands of Playa Grande to swim, surf, boogie board, or sunbathe nude where the waves are big and the currents less strong. Horseback ride, bike, or hike the beachfront path north towards Playa Cocolito, where El Chorro waterfall tumbles into the rocky ocean. Follow the river upstream from the beach to find more waterfalls for swimming. Playa Los Cedros, a small scenic beach flanked by a waterfall and large banyan tree near Cabuya, has a right-handed point break favored by experienced surfers when the south swells get going good. The beaches and tropical forests at the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Preserve are protected as a national park. Surf at nearby Mal Pais, Playa Santa Teresa, or Playa Carmen. Surf camps can teach you the basics.

We had the fish. Must say it was very dry and had no tast. Rice and vegetable uncooked. I would not recomend it. I would love to give 0 stars for that.Nice ambiente with a sea view.Service okey.HelloWe serve catch of the day fish, since we are on the beach and we buy to the local fishermen.I can´t understand what happened with your food. We are here since 1993 and I can assure you that it has not been selling bad food. Quite the opposite...Well, We hope you can give us the opportunity to demonstrate you the quality of our food, in your next visit to Montezuma. To serve you.Miguel

Weâve eaten here several times for many years and had good food. Unfortunately, this year the restaurant has gone way downhill. The toilet and bathroom tap were broken so there was no lavatory available on premises. The only wash sink available had no soap/towels available. Midway through our lunch the cook came out to brush her teeth at the sink. The waitress then used the same sink to wet a broom to wash the floor. The food was extremely basic and devoid of flavour. And there was one scratchy CD played over and over at high volume. Also, cafe is currently receiving a few white faced capuchin visitors which is quite normal for the area but they occasionally jump down the trees to nick stuff off the tables. Families with small children might need to keep an eye on little ones. Shame to see this place has gotten so bad as the cafe is one of the few places in town with a beach breeze and food used to be quite tasty traditional Tico.

It has been a few years since our first visit to Soda La Naranja. We stopped in for Ceviche and beers and we were not disappointed. They really do make the best ceviche around town. Enjoyed watching the chef prepare freshest ingredients - tasting as he goes to ensure the best flavours. Love the fact that it is locally owned.

Went to this place as it was recommended by our hostel, and we were very pleased. The chef personally greeted us and gave us his recommendations. We ordered pina coladas, ceviche, shrimp, and sea bass. Everything was delicious and the servers were very attentive. Loved the atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend!

Wow I was blown away at how good the food is at this hidden gem of a beach restaurant. We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was a real treat. Iâm told the food is always different depending on the market availability. This is a top place.

I was not feeling well and had simple grilled fresh fish. Very good and moist. My hysband had the curry and coconut fish and fell in love with it. We were also greatly entertained by the house kitties. Just like home, I think they knew we were kitty lovers.

I went due to positive reviews on tripadvisor & wasnât disappointed. We had pineapple & mint juices which were lovely, chicken & shrimp rice & 2 glasses of wine. The food was fresh & tastes great. At the end of the night, as 2 females we were worried about walking back into town in the dark as they couldnât get us a taxi. Our waiter was so kind and walked us home when he finished his shift. What a lovely place!

This place is an absolute gem. I had the tropical ceviche with mahi mahi. Every culinary element covered. The sweet from the mango and passion fruit, the sour from the lime, the crunch from the peppers and onions, the spicy from the ginger and jalapeno. The owner was running the show and was incredibly friendly and hospitable. You simply won't find a tastier and refreshing meal after an afternoon on the beach.Thank you for your kind words my friend it was a pleasure to have you in for a bite. Hope to see you again soon!
