I have eaten there twice in the last three weeks. It is suggested you book if going on a Friday or Saturday. You walk in and are confronted by an oval display counter. On the one side fresh seafood which you can choose and have it cooked there and then or purchase to take home to eat at a later date. The other side is made up primarily of already cooked dishes. The selection is mind boggling and it is difficult to decide what to eat because of this. I and the people have eaten the following so far......cold octopus and potato salad/starter: delicious, and so tender. Seafood couscous. Equally as good. Seafood risotto: quite outstanding. Beautifully cooked rice with an injection of various seafoods. Not too strong to overpower the rice. I tasted another diner's. Will have the whole plate next time. Seafood soup ie basically a bouillabaisse with slices of crispy French loaf. It stole the show. I had it on each visit. So good I call it a cooked aquarium. Deep-fried white bait (small little fish) covered in flour - lightly - fried a few minutes - served with lemon which you add in abundance. Ooh la la! Wine not over-priced. Restaurant open and sunny. Staff quite superb, especially Robert and Roberta. Return? You bet! Prices not cheap but then not too expensive either. One drawback: it only opens for lunch, and closes at 3pm Monday through Saturday.

Historic restaurant in Lucca over 100 years old, typical tuscan atmosphere, many paintings on the wall by local artists, 4 different dining rooms and summer terrace for 100 persons. Charcoal grill, Bistecca alla Fiorentina is our speciality, lucca special
Next to the road of Lucca Alla Cantina is a nice restaurant to enjoy typical italian dishes without fuss and overpriced item. The staff is efficient even if the youngest clearly does not show their love to the tourists.Only the boss speaks different languages and he will fix all your issues.we loved the pizza, pasta and the tomato mozzarella.Cotoletta alla milanese (Milanese veal) was very large, but should have been cooked longer / more homogeneously. Desert are good and price are very honest. It deserve the road for the days you do not want to cook at home.At the end a good experience, even with a little unfriendly staff or a strange smell outside in the parking.Thank you very much!Paolo Monti

The food was good for value. The service, however, was exceptionally well done by our host. This made us have a great feeling about the night while our bellies were full and satisfied. Location is not far from Lucca if you have some wheels, so go check it out if you have the opportunity!

West of Lucca behind noisy sprawl of shops, but outdoor seating sufficiently buffered. Mostly all clients in our two visits were locals. Reputation in the area is also driven by its apparently excellent pizza; It even has carry-out!Prices are reasonable. Fish dishes are the specialty, but try the other options. No need to do the full three-plate dinner. Service can be a little erratic. Reservations recommended on weekends.

Fab restaurant. Run by a hard working family that have make this a local institution. Tucked in the hills about 25 minutes from Lucca. Good range of meat and fish dishes, all local. Super friendly staff. Interior is smart, spacious. Posh vibe but you can dress informally. Used for wedding parties. Large balcony. Large parking lot.

A wine restaurant where you can enjoy well-selected wines, the fruit of a long and continuous search that compliments the cuisine of Chefs Maurizio Marsili and Alessandro Lucchinelli. The chef wakes up early in the morning to make sure he can secure the b
I had lunch here on a rainy Friday in October 2018 en route from San Gimignano to Camaiore. It was somewhat tricky to find amongst the luxurious villas and mansions dotted around this rich, lush landscape on the outskirts of Lucca, but well worth the effort.I accepted the recommendation of Andrea, the patron, of a glass of La Goia di San Stefano which is produced just down the road and is a truly beautiful bianco on the palette, especially with seafood in which this extraordinary restaurant specialises. My starter was a crudità of several types of local fish and shellfish. Presented magnificently on a capacious platter, it was distressing to disturb it's perfection by consuming it, but consume it I did - with relish. My mains was a generous portion of Muggine, also a local fish, white and tender served with a herb and potato pastiche and delicious fresh baby leaves. There was a definite secret ingredient which I would guess involved caramelized lemon. It was truly brilliant. (Andrea, who had taken great pains to explain the menu to me in his easy going and engaging way, insisted on re-cooking the main course as I had left my table as it arrived for 2 minutes.)As a parting digestive and a gift I was given a local gin infused with a herb from a plant which grows only on the local beaches and is much prized for its honey. The bill came to â¬70 which in my view was well worth it.The bread, coffee and accompanying biscuits were all of exceptional quality. This is quite clearly an exceptional restaurant and will rank as the best ever of a month's holiday in AndalucÃa and Tuscany/Umbria. Don't miss it if you're ever in the area!
