Avoiding the drive to town, we merely walked a 100 steps to the hotelâs sushi bar. Miyakojima Tokyu Resort Hotel actually has 5 dining options including the Moon shell bar, Shangri-la buffet, BBQ house, and Yaebishi with a âBenihana styleâ grill, and fine dining seating and a sushi bar. Thanks to our new friend and concierge, Lars, we were able to get seated right away at the sushi bar rather than wait for the tour groups to file through first. The sushi bar was quiet and the sushi chef playful given we are one of those Americans that only speak English. With a small appetite we ordered the sashimi plate and tempura. Both were delicious and satisfying. We enjoyed the tasteful presentation and intimacy of sitting at the sushi bar. Had we been more hungry we would have ordered one of the set menus. Next time...

After having dinner at Shiragi Resort where we stay in the past 5 nights, the hotel concierge recommends this restaurant said to be visited by the president of Japan. I'm surprised that it is ranked after 100. Fresh materials & yummy. Very pleasant hot sake. A place for foodie.

Came for the clam soba but unfortunately they were out due to rough sea conditions that day. Pork soba was still very good. They have a lookout spot on the roof and beach for pictures that are very nice. Be warned that if a tour bus or buses show up around lunch time you may have to wait for a bit for your order as the staff will focus on taking care of the groups purchases first.

Sadly there is no fresh fish for the day, our guide recommend their fishes as they are really fresh and good. We had Fried Bonito Rice set & Beef Patty Rice set. We really enjoyed the food & atmosphere. Pricing is acceptable too.

Great place, really sympathic waitress, food excellent. Sometimes I remember the taco rice (if my memory is good), I went twice in this restaurant during my holidays to order it and I dream that I could eat it again... but I live so far from there... ps / And of course with an Orion beer !
