This bar is awesome! In the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, it is a nice break from the world outside. The kitschy decor and upbeat attitude of the staff made our experience a great one! I had a tropical mixed drink and my husband a beer and both were really good. The mixed drink was not watered down at all so itâs a good thing we ate food or I would have needed some assistance to leave. LOL This is a bar we would most definitely revisit if we find ourselves in Pittsburgh again.
I've visited this location a number of times since it's right down the street from me. I usually order there fried clams to go and have never been disappointed in their quantities or quality. Just good fried food, pardon the oxymoron, but for a firehouse, they do a great job with their tiny kitchen and orders to go.
It is a A &W / Long John Silvers If you like either they are OK. I have stopped a few times for fish and sometimes they are out.

My wife and I arrived at around 5 to celebrate her birthday. We were greeted immediately and seated immediately cuz we had reservations. Although at 5 time you should not have any problem even without the reservation. We decided to sit at the bar because the happy hour specials were not available in the dining room. Our server / bartender was very nice and very cordial and answered our questions that we had asked about the menu. He made a recommendation for dinner for me and it was excellent. The prices are upscale. But from what we got, they were definitely in line. The atmosphere in the place is very nice, background music is kept very low, and of course so was the lighting. You also have a choice of dining outside if the weather is not too hot and humid. When we mentioned to the bartender that we were celebrating a birthday. He said well that's worth a free dessert. This was unexpected, and very nice and appreciated. We are from out of town, state of Washington, and the next time we arrive in Pittsburgh we will definitely come here again to enjoy a nice dinner.
