The restaurant featured local fresh seafood dishes. The restaurant was located to the shopping mall in the Matsue station. Many tourists used the restaurant because it's in very convenient place. There were small counters and few tables, so it was a small restaurant. Fresh fish were displayed on the counter. price was a little bit pricey, and I felt it was similar to average price in Tokyo. All dishes were very tasty and good quality. However I was a little bit disappointed, because I expected the restaurant provided affordable dishes with their local ingredients.

The Matsue Tourist Information Office suggested we'd eat here and unfortunately we didn't reserve seats as we were early and didn't think it was necessary. Five minutes later we arrived at the restauant which didn't have more than two customers, but no every seat was taken, we were told. No place, no food tonight. Why was that?

The Akishima was a super find. Great place for the local food! The start with sashimi was super. The main event was the local super size raw oyster, a very delicious treat, but a bit pricy at 1,500 yen per oyster. The mushroom tempura and Anago tempura were both great, the mountain potato, cooked eggplant were also terrific and sake fantastic. This place is not to be missed

Maruzen Suisan is on the first floor of the Alpha 1 Hotel. It is not owned by the hotel. The food was nice but seemed a bit expensive. These prices however seem to be on par with other eating places in the Izumo area. We had dinner here twice. As an example, the first night prices were: 1 small glass of chardonnay wine 789 yen, 1 x uzu sake 550 yen, 1 x medium beer 529 yen, 2 x small fish (like aji) 700 yen, 1 x tempura 699 yen, 1 x ika sashimi 699 yen, 1 x egg omlette (good size) 699 yen, 1 x chicken cartlage (ãªããã¤) 499 yen. Total (plus tax) 5570 yen. The second night total (plus tax) was 7360 yen.
