fun times we had at la casa de Al. Apparently Al Pacino lived there when he was going to Varadero, so it makes it fun to eat there. I took the lobster and it was very good. Lovely time and beautiful view.

Spent an evening in Matanzas, went to this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious! From the drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Everything was perfect. Portion sizes were unreal for the price, would certainly go back and recommend this place to friends.

This open-bar restaurant, set on the second floor and overlooking the Bay of Pigs, offers only a limited seafood menu. But the execution is good, the setting is lovely, and the service is decent. It's a lovely spot for a meal by the water.Thank you for sharing your opinion, Sedgwall. When you like, it will be a pleasure to welcome you again. See you soon!!!
Top 6 Italian food in Matanzas, Matanzas Province, Caribbean
We were convinced by a young man standing on the street to they this place. From close to Beatles you walk a little further into town and on the same side of the road there is anu entrance way into a park. The park is beautiful during the day and less so at night as it is hard to see. It is dark but a very safe walk at night. Just a block from the main road there are three restaurants and a daytime bar which makes okay piña coladas. One of these is the El Retiro which is a large older building which sort of looks like it could have been a home for an army colonal or the such. There are two sections(one outdoors overlooking the waterway(lake). We were the only ones there so chose to sit inside. We ordered the fish and also the steak, shrimp, lobster combination. We took our own wine and weren't charged a corking fee. Honestly, the lobster I received was so big I could barely finish it. It was very good. The filet looked more like a hamburger when it came but tasted like a minute steak. The fish was very good too. There was a soup which we ordered that was basically a broth. This could be a very romantic place as they have there own fine wines and the outdoor tables on a nice warm night could be really nice. Also the walk through the park(with a possible stop at the foot of the pond) could really set off a nice night. From the entrance way to the park from the main street, the beatles bar, calle 62 , and Havana Club are just a few steps away. The food here wasn't as good as the top few rated places in town that we tried but in hindsight it was okay and I personally would like to go back.
