Many restaurants in Karystos are set back from the port with a road in front of the tables. Anemoni is at the eastern end of the town with tables on the cliff top overlooking the sea, with a beach below. A gentle sea breeze takes the heat of the day away and the view is delightful. We ate lunch there on several occasions and each time it was excellent. Mostly Greek fare with everything of good quality and perfectly cooked. Salads are very fresh and the local red wine very palatable. We will certainly be going back there to eat again next time we visit Evia. Certainly our favourite lunch spot.

Seafront locations. Segnior Filippas is there discreet and attentive. The Kazanisto ouzo, boiled chorta salad, tyropittakia, small fried mullets were extraordinary. The preparation time was minimal and the portions were sumptuous for western european standards. Clientele with terroir simplicity and serious eaters. Olive oil used fragrant and plentiful. Seating, lighting to our absolute liking. Esentially operated by Fillipas and his wife (efficient, convincing and precise).

We love this spot! The food is really good quality and always tasty. The perfect place after swimming. Home cut French fries, and calamari that is always well prepared in FRESH oil. The string beans, when in season, are devine and so is the pickled octopus and fish. Best 'Pastitio' (traditional macaroni/ground beef) in town! If you have time, meet the cook and you'll understand why the food is so good. She is a lovely refreshing lady who knows her way around the kitchen!

One day we went to Karystos/Evia fish village and we asked for fish. The PARALIA restaurant owner offered us the option, of buying the fish from his cousin who owns a fish shop nearby and then to cook it for us. So after two days we went back to the restaurant, we went together with a waiter and we bought two medium sized Sea Breams. We also ordered salad and octopus in charcoal (so to improve our order ? and not just have the stewed fish). Everything was fine up to the moment I asked the bill and saw that I was charged 20⬠for cooking the two fishes. We payed the bill and gave a promise to BARGAIN BEFORE every order now and then !

Greek restaurant with traditional Greek cuisine with a "twist", we use only fresh local ingredients and we cook only with care and love for you.The owner is the chef and he loves cooking and me his wife a waitress ,so we are waiting you and hope you enjoy
The chef Melios and his family prepare food that is both familiar Greek food but also an inspired variation on traditional Mediterranean fare. They present beautiful dishes that are tasty and made individually to order. What we enjoy most at Agone is the grilled fishes and delicious and abundant salads that are not simply the ordinary "Greek salads" but something quite special. The prices are reasonable and the view on the harbor very nice. We very much like eating at Agone and recommend it for having a meal that is a cut above the ordinary Greek taverna menu. Melios himself is very personable and friendly, speaks English and has a great sense of humor. You will have a pleasurable and satisfying meal at Agone.

Small partitions, not very tasty and well overpriced. I was in Karystos for a week and enjoyed every single restaurant apart from this one. I never complain or write reviews but I was shocked how bad this restaurant was compare to the ones on the high street, don't believe in any good reviews.

Excellent seaside taverna, right on the waterfront, fresh fish, polite and quick service, good prices, worth going to many times. The BEST in Marmari.

Lovely family Greek tavern, with fireplace for the winter and beautiful garden for the summer. special local plates like lamp chops and young goat with tomato sauce from our farm. Handmade pies and many fresh salads are waiting for you all weather.
The food was good and tasty, but the service can be improved a lot. Not very busy when we arrived but took really long time to even get a menu. Then we had to wait to place our order, wait again for the food and at least wait for a long time to get paid. Unnecessary, there were enough staff and not so many guests.
