You can go to Tsukiji or Ginza to enjoy really good Sushi but prices are very expensive and you have to wait a long time (like Sushi-Dai in Tsukiji) even when the prices are reasonable. I found a Sushi gem place in Machida, an outskirt of Tokyo. The quality is as good as famous Ginza/Tsukiji restaurants and the prices are less than half. It's OK to go to Kaiten (Revolving) Sushi but if you really want to try something really authentic, Sushi Kintaro is the place. You will never be disappointed. At the moment this new place is a secret place for local Machida people only. To go to Machida, I took Odakyu Railway. It took 40 minutes from Shinjuku to Machida by Express train. If you want to enjoy cozy Limited Express by paying extra yen410 for a seat reservation, it takes only 33 minutes (Machida is the next stop and you will never be puzzled). They say there are two Limited Express services an hour. I really enjoyed the the train ride too. Is it worthwhile to go all the way to the suburb from Shinjuku? The answer is definitely YES. You can enjoy the best Sushi with yen2,000 for lunch. No need to go to Sushi-Dai and wait for 2-5 hours any more.ã
