A regular cod and a large chip's between three of us was enough. Cooked as we were waiting, so very fresh.

I have just returned home after a week in Polruan. The stay was made even better by having this pub about 100 yards from where we were staying. It serves great beer and has a good selection of ciders as well as wine. The food was excellent and plentiful and the serving staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.Dogs were also very welcome and were even treated to free gravy bone biscuits. Reggie thought that was a nice touch.

Steakhouse and seafood restaurant located near the beautiful Charlestown harbour.
It's been just over a year since we had dinner at The Longstore on our wedding day so whilst we were passing through Charlestown we thought we'd pop back in. Same great attentive service, our French waitress was excellent. Crab and avocado salad was amazing and the hake was excellent. If you get a table by the window you do get a glimpse of the harbour and sea. Just wish the restaurant was a little closer to home!

Went in for lunch on a Saturday and the staff were friendly and welcoming and was not that busy, was shown to a table in the main area.First impressions was surprise at the number of dogs in the restaurant with one dog trying to fight most of the other dogs with a lot of barking.Waitress brought drinks quickly and I ordered the Mackerel pate for starters which came with four small rye crispbreads. Not enough crispbreads for the amount of pate which did not have a strong mackerel flavour. For mains I had the Beef burger which arrived on a wooden board and the chips in a small bucket. The burger bun was nice but the burger meat was dry and way too much raw red onion and a huge slice of tomato which made the burger hard to eat. I have never tasted coleslaw like this and the chunky was very strong. The paper between the burger and wooden board added to eating the burger with a knife and fork difficult.Partner had the Sea Bass which was very good.Wanted the crème brûlée but was told they had not set yet but I suspect they had run out.Overall ok food for the price but barking dogs and dinners allowing their dogs to sit on their lap while eating is not conclusive a nice place to eat.Thank you for your recent review, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience with us here at Havener's.Fowey is a very dog friendly town and although we only let dogs into part of our restaurant we do seem to be a very popular place for people and their pooches! Please ask to be seated in our dog free part of the restaurant next time and we will be pleased to welcome you, we will take note of your points regarding what let your meal down and really hope to improve these for your next visit

We had dinner here twice during our week at nearby accommodation. On both occasions I had the mussels starter and they were simply the largest juiciest best mussels I have ever had, and a substantial serving of them too. The staff were friendly and chatty and helpful (especially fitting us in after we abandoned the neighbouring Sams-on-the-beach). I've marked them down one notch because their main courses are too large : everybody in a party of 8 failed to finish them.

Sams, opened in 1987. Still standing the test of time.Something for everyone. Hope you enjoy.
Set in the old lifeboat station, a nice spot with views over the beach. Inside itâs really nice and there is an excellent wide range on the menu as well as good drinks. We will be back again.

Samâs on The Beach, is situated in a beautiful restored RLNI Lifeboat House right on the oceans edge on Polkerris Beach. A stunning location and decor with exceptional views and evening sunsets over St Austell Bay. Dishing up locally sourced and caught Se
Lovely location. Beautiful settings, views and the overall restaurant itself is very nice. Staff - seemed to lack a bit of enthusiasm and seemed quite unorganised. Had to prompt for drinks orders to be taken. Food was lovely and they really do a great job of seafood. Drinks are overpriced £5 the cheapest pint and that is their own lager too! Overall, lovely place and lovely food. Just let down in a few areas which is slightly disappointing when your paying top money.

Award winning fish and chip restaurant and takeaway, food is freshly cooked to order, vegetarian options, gluten free menu, daily specials
Visited after reading positive reviews, but won't be back. To be fair the food was okay (if you overlooked the aged slice of lemon garnish), but the service was terrible. On arrival, we were greeted very abruptly. When the food was served it was just dumped on the table, with no interest in who's meal was whose, and when the bill came it had half of another tables order added to it!Also cheap as chips it was not. Approaching £10 for a very small cod and chips. Probably best to give it a miss.

Our first visit in June was lovely. So quite taken aback on a Saturday evening when ordering 5 childrenâs portions of fish and chips to be told in no uncertain terms that it was not possible and to order a full size portion to share. Abrupt customer service.
