Wonderful way to celebrate a milestone birthday for a friend. Since there were more than twenty guests, there were many different orders. Everything looked and tasted great. A bit out of the way but GPS will get you there. Fresh fish and seafood lovers, this is a must.

Met two couples for seafood at this often locally recommended and previously visited (maybe three or four times) in several years of coming to central Florida. This past Saturday, two couples (we were one) drove an hour and the third couple was local. Our locals eat here several times a year, easy meet up. Itâs very casual, food typically reliably good, tables and floors clean, an old unattractive fish camp on a lake that upgraded from portapotties to flush toilets, with outdoor open air bar and enclosed indoor a/c bar both with table food service, live low key music outside, with a steady stream of locals coming to sit and stay awhile. Think reliable standby, a solid second choice, slow night out. Oyster night is now Wednesdayâs with bucket and beer for $30 at oyster shuckers counter - good deal worth visit. Other weekday specials. Fried grouper top notch. Blackened grouper not as good. Gumbo thick and NOLA good. Catfish perfectly done. Cole slaw & Fries good. Two star loss for this crazy scene: We had 2 tables pushed together and 3 checks and were told our group reached its oyster limit when one more tried to order a dozen after seeing three others looked good when served. What? Yes, no more. Why? Because the machine wouldnât allow me to put in more. What? If you want more you can go to the oyster bar. What? Three of us ordered a dozen oysters and 6 of us ordered dinners! Now a fourth wants oysters before their catfish and the answer is no? Yes. What? No you canât have more. WHAT! Only 3 orders to a table. Are you serious because technically we have 2 tables and oh for heavens sake, why are we arguing tables and allowances when itâs ridiculous that you wonât serve a dozen oysters to me because Iâm paying for food at your restaurant and you have plenty of available oysters so please send the manager. Manager: Itâs $17 here and less at oyster bar. WHAT? I donât care if itâs more here and your restaurant shouldnât either because oh for goodness sakes this is a crazy ridiculous conversation so forgetaboutit. Yep, for real. Head slap times six.

The entrance was quirky and the signs somewhat rude, but being a local native I can empathize. When we opened our menus, we were surprised the prices were so high.My husband, who recommended the restaurant, chose liver and onions, which were dry. My mother and I love shrimp, so we went with the fried shrimp. The batter coating was light, tasting under cooked. The sides were good; collard greens and baked potato. The tablespoon of butter/ oleo on the potato was too much for my mom.Two of us had a drink. The bill was $78 before a tip. I usually give a place two trips, but we canât afford to go back.

Best place in Lake Wales for fresh seafood. Not a huge selection but usually good and fairly priced: tuna, grouper, flounder, snapper, shrimp, clams...they also smoke their own salmon and it's delicious. Next door to a really good local farmers market too.

We visited this fun, unique place on a slow, rainy Saturday afternoon. They featured a dollar menu that included sliders, chili dogs, beer, etc. The food was good, the beer cold, and the hospitality first rate. They have a tradition, on your first visit you get a whack with a ruler, also their posted closing time is 430; however, they stayed open past 5. I could tell you more but I encourage you to visit and discover this place on your own. Fine dining with silk napkins it is NOT!
