Fresh oysters, great service, nice location (shame about the view onto the lake being obstructed by the actual oyster farm), great price. PS: this is not a restaurant per say, i.e. they dont have any cooked food & for drinks only white or rose wine which goes with the oysters. Its a fresh oysters degustation place! Very gay friendly!!

We had a Chicken Salad... and it did us two meals...it was huge...make sure you are hungry when you go to the restaurant - and make sure you go to this restaurant...as it's fab... sit overlooking the Ocean, enjoying a glass of rose and a meal...just lovely.

I definitely recommend everyone to stop at "La Poupe" when going to Hossegor! On top of a really enjoyable view of the Lake, I had the best Hangover cure with their Oysters and very well balanced white wine to go with it.Staff is extremely nice and helpfull and if your head can still take it, I suggest you try their homemade Paté with chunks of Foie Gras inside: A must ! They also have prawns for those that do not fancy Oysters. Thanks again to "La Poupe" (the owner) for his time and his advice about the area.

Set in a marvelous position, besides Le Lac in Hossegor, the restaurant gives the impression of elegance and fine dining. To a certain extent this it does provide but there is something missing which is very hard to define. The food is good but not outstanding, the staff are somewhat stiff in their attitude and you somehow come away feeling slightly disappointed but finding it hard to actually define why. Choice of decentwines available and the menu extensive with a speciality of seafood. Still worth a visit and prices not over the top !

There was a sticker at the door that said it was recommended by the Guide Michelin. That was the reason, why we decided to have our last holiday dinner there. Mistake. The food was very disappointing especially considering the steep prices! The service, however, was great - the only reason why the evening was not a complete desaster!

We arrived 8.30pm on a Saturday night to an already very busy restaurant. A pleasant welcome and we were taken to our reserved table. We chose the Saturday evening special seafood platter for two, which at 90 euros we were hoping for something special. A long wait but it arrived and looked spectacular with around 8 different seafoods and 3 condiments on a bed of ice. Classic fruit-de-mar. A selection of implements to aid accessing these delicacies was also provided with large bowls for the 'bits'. The seafood was fresh and nicely presented complimented by the condiments. Overall we enjoyed the food, but found the bulot (whelks) to be a little tough, not sure because of the large size or being over cooked? The lobster was ok but we have had much better elsewhere. We choose a bottle of white Pouilly Fume which was a good choice. Desserts were spectacular, excellent presentation and very tasty. Overall the price was high versus the overall quality.Worth a visit but choose dishes carefully.

You can go there to have just a seafood plate but not for fine dining.Prices are anormally high specially for fish....30 euros for small sole !Service is too long....In fact you pay more the "museum" atmosphere than the food in your plate.

Really pleased to find such a little gem on the seafront within walking distance of our hotel. Excellent value fixed price menu with lots of choice. Friendly and efficient staff who managed to keep service going throughout a major thunderstorm overhead!

We were cycling from Capbreton and decided to stop here for lunch instead of carrying on to Bayonne. Food, service and timing between courses were impeccable. The best Moules à la plancha I've ever had. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. The views are special and we will be back.
