Seriously, the guy works hard and is greeting guests and taking orders, watching to make certain everything is running smoothly and making it possible for you to have a great day at the beach without worrying about all your stuff. (don't leave your valuables laying around, but yeah, you can go for a swim without worrying that your table will get taken or your stuff gone through.Drinks are good and the food is excellent. Simple Mexican beach food with a little flair. Fish tacos are wonderful and they do one with cheese in the batter that's amazing. It's an excellent location to lounge under an umbrella and people watch for the day.

We ate here one evening, and it is charming and full of atmosphere. That night there there was delightful music. It was crowded, very popular. Waitstaff is very helpful. We enjoyed especiall the stuffed mushrooms. Restaurants in this town do not take most credit cards, so bring cash.

My husband and I drove from Puerto Vallarta to La Manzanilla not knowing what to expect. The drive is beautiful-lush, green foliage and well paved roads. Chantli Mare is actually located in Boca de Iguanas, which is a 5 minute drive from La Manzanilla. This is a small boutique hotel with only 6 rooms, 4 of which have ocean views. We stayed for 2 nights in an ocean view room with a semi-private patio. To say that Chantli Mare is heaven is an understatement. It sits on an unobstructed stretch of beach where there wasnât a single soul in sight. There is an empty house to one side and nothing on the other. Itâs rather secluded and isolated which is exactly what we were looking for. Guests have access to lounge chairs and umbrellas where you can soak up the sun and the ocean air. Each guest room comes with two beach towels. Roberto is the owner and is most often on site. He is incredibly helpful and accommodating. Whatever you may need he can either get it for you, or point you in the right direction. He is respectful of your privacy, but if you want some light conversation and a tequila, he will share with you the history of the hotel (used to be his familyâs summer house) and his love of the area. I almost donât want to say too many good things about Chantli Mare because itâs a gem of a place along a special coastline of Mexico. But it canât really get overcrowded because of its size and how many people Roberto can accommodate. But what I will end with is that this is a place to visit when you need to completely unwind, relax, recharge and unplug-if you goose to (there is decent WiFi but why bother when youâve got the ocean, a good book and some good tequila to drink). Two thumbs up for this wonderful place and thanks Roberto for your hospitality.

We eat breakfast here every Sunday. Terrific fruit plate, eggs Benny, et al. Great beach setting with lots of umbrella tables. Staff is wonderful. Owners Juan and Rosa keep it spotless.
